Hey guys... missed me?
![]() As you know, Orphaned Land is in the middle of the recordings of our next album, "OrwarrioR"! All the drums+base lines have been recorded, as well as 99.9999% of the guitar parts, and if you know us you'd know that many oriental ethnical instruments are usually involved, and on this album we are proud to feature members of the Nazareth orchestra - which is an "Arabian" style orchestra with all kinds of interesting arabian instruments. Our last session, which took place yesterday (28.3.2009), included arabian style violins. We have also recorded some classic piano lines, played by a talented guy and a close friend, Avner Gavrieli, and we are looking forward for some more sessions over the next few days. Until then, here are some pictures from rehearsals and recordings, have a great week! Matti ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ready for some percussions? :-)
Well, with all these TONS of Riffs and dozens of minutes of numerous string instruments, you really need some rythmic parts to "spice things up", don't you think?
So today we're recording the percussion parts for the album, varying from different Darbukas through Pakistanian percussions, castanets etc. The talented Avi Agababa is doing his finger magic again :-) If we finish on time I might have a chance to wrap up some last ethnic instruments, including Chumbush ![]()

OMG, that's wonderful Yossi. The magic of diversity!
Is there going to be ~30 types of percussion like it's rumored there is on Mabool?

It's really great posting photos and updating from the studio. It's important for us to keep in touch and get closer with the band through the recordings session as the new album takes shape! Really appreciate it, thanks a lot guys!!!

Time for some flutes...
After wrapping up 100% (almost) of all the guitars and traditional string instruments along with the drums and bass, following the Violins comes the instrument of wind - The Flute. We use a variety of flutes in ORwarriOR playing, as usual, Orphaned Land riffs like you like them

Hi Yossi, thanks for the picture. Is that Arabian flute or Japanese flute? Looks like it's made of reed or bamboo.
PS: I got an idea how ORwarriOR might sound like: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?t4tnajvmltz ![]()
