Serious movies: Tarkovsky's Stalker, Andrei Rubylev, and The Mirror. Fellini's 8 1/2, Bergmans Seventh Seal, Kaufmans Adaptation, and Scorcese's The Last Temptation of Christ. I should also add The Kid by Charlie Chaplin, and Lawrence of Arabia.
Entertaining movies: Rocky I and II, The National Lampoon Vacation Movies, Planes Trains and Automobiles, DIrty Harry, Back to School, The Jerk, Great Outdoors, well most 80's comedies by Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, John Candy, Dan Akroyd, BIll Murray. There is something about seeing them countlessly in ones youth, that has made them timelessly funny for me.

My two favourites are "Dancer In The Dark" and "Amélie". The both have fascinating characters, great stories, very original cinematography, and beautiful music. Also, "Amélie" is the funniest film ever.

And the emmy goes to...
Evil Dead!!!! I say Evil Dead because I remember searching for it (when it was not popular) and couldn't find it anywhere because I remember it scaring me half to death when I was a kid. I can't believe how popular it is now. There was only one copy I had found that was in some back room movie store complete with film mess ups like a strand of hair moving across the screen...etc. etc. That is the best movie.

Since there is a stark overabundance of films I admire, I'll simply post a random 20, in no specific order other than the order in which they enter my head:
The Godfather Casablanca Citizen Kane Cinema Paradiso The Deer Hunter Forrest Gump The Crying Game Clockwork Orange City Lights Some Like it Hot Rocky Chasing Amy Seven Midnight Cowboy The Poseidon Adventure The Bridge on the River-Kwai Boogie Nights Adaptation Happiness Edward Scissorhands
