I'm struggling to think of 10 for 2009. I've enjoyed the latest releases from
Dream Theater Katatonia Megadeth Also quite liked the Chickenfoot and Sonata Arctica records too......need to think on though for more.

If I may recommend something to you guys that I didn't put on my list:
Fairyland - Score To A New Beginning It's epic! It's a project completely written and mostly played by a frenchie called Phil Giordana. You'll be wanting to check it out as soon as you see the list of people involved in this album, me thinks. From Fairyland's myspace: Quote:

Tyr - By the Light of the Northern Star Sonata Arctica - The Days of Grays Cain's Offering - Gather the Faithful Stratovarius - Polaris Fairyland - Score To A New Beginning Ensiferum - From Afar Dream Theater - Black Clouds & Silver Linings Alestorm - Black Sails At Midnight Edguy - Tinnitus Sanctus (I know it was released everywhere else in 2008, but it didn't reach the USA until 2009, so to me it counts) Celesty - Vendetta EDIT: Actually, I think Cain's Offering's debut is my favorite 2009 release. I've actually listened to it more than anything else. Surprising, too, because I had never heard a word about them until the album came out!
