I like all kinds of music. I'm a huge classical music fan, I love electronic stuff... I really like a bunch of songs from all different genres, I don't have any "guilty pleasures." I don't listen to certain genres much like rap and country and all that but there are still a couple songs in every genre that I like. Metal, like almost everyone here, though, is my genre of choice.

Nah, there are definitely professional folk musicians.

Wikipedia:

Folk music is music that is played or sung by ordinary people (not professional musicians).

So Wikipedia is wrong then?

That is indeed wrong... 'folk music' is hard to define. Folk music like what she's talking about... think about Bob Dylan or Simon & Garfunkel, those types of musicians.

I think both definitions are right. One on hand you can call indigenous music "folk" but it's also the name of the American folk genre.

Those high notes are a bit cringeworthy!

Jeez. If there was ever a band who SHOULD use auto-tune, it's probably them

Just revisited the video above and maybe i was a little harsh.
To be fair, the music sounds pretty good, it's just the vocals in that video.

This week ive been mostly listening to Theocracy (give them a try, they're epic once you get past the Christian tag), Saratoga (Spanish heavy/power metal) and Dark Moor (more Spanish power metal, this time with English lyrics)

Theocracy's album Mirror of Souls took a while to click with me - not sure why, but once it did, it blew me away, some fantastic power metal on that album! I'll have to check out Saratoga, and Dark Moor rocks.
