Real Drums??? Whos
Hey guys,
So I've been listening in on a lot of the forum members' mixes and I am really impressed with a lot of the stuff that everyone is making. However, I noticed that virtually everyone is using programmed/sampled drums? Who is using real players and real mic'd kits?? It is 10,000x harder to get an awesome drum sound with mic'ing real drums, not to mention 10,000x more expensive... I am interested in making samples of my own kits and using those - does anyone have any experience in doing this? If so, I'd like to hear about your general procedure. There's not a lot of info out there on creating samples. For example, one point I'm confused about is are most samples created by mixing down multiple mics? Including room, etc? Thanks for any advice! Last edited by statzern : May 17th, 2012 at 02:01 PM. |
