I made a silly, filthy electronic song. (Arnold Scwarzenegger content)
Didn't know where to put this, I hope it's ok if I put it in this section of the forum
![]() Playing guitar feels quite boring at the moment and I'm trying to find new ways to have fun with music. Here's a very serious song I made: Soundcloud! http://soundcloud.com/behindert/behindert-get-down Last edited by Behindert : May 24th, 2012 at 06:09 PM. |

Ericlingus: I used Massive and FM8 from Native Instruments. You can make som REALLY nasty shit with those synths. It's a bit tricky learning how to use them, but once you do you're gonna fall in love haha. If you think metal requires lots of automation at times, you need to try this. Automating a metal song is nothing like doing stuff like this, it sure is a challenge and I've learned alot! You almost need Aspergers or something like that to be able to do it haha.
26: Haha, great ![]() colonel_claypoo: Hmm yes, some more memorable samples would have fit in nicely hehe ![]() |

100% awesome.
Did you use any resources or tutorials to learn the ropes when it comes to doing the envelopes, automation, glitching etc. or was it all learned through trial and error? |

Thanks!
![]() Well, I'd say it's a combination of watching/reading tutorials and then trying it out yourself. Lots of trial and error for sure! Often you stumble upon a cool sound when you're actually making a mistake haha ![]() |

hey could you give some examples on what you did on the automation. Especially during the crazy wobble bass part. There are also these weird lead part in between the wobbles that sound really crazy. What did you do there? I'd appreciate it if you helped. I've been doing some electronica stuff and that's probably the hardest part for me. I can make a basic wobble automating the LFO rate but not sure how others might go about it.
Here is a song I did with a wobble bass. It's pretty basic and isn't really finished. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51105490/EBM...pMastered4.mp3 Last edited by Ericlingus : June 3rd, 2012 at 04:03 PM. |

bogchop: I think I removed that one beacuse of lack of space haha... I'll see if I can get rid of another one instead and upload it again
![]() Ericlingus: Hmm, I think it's kind of difficult describing how I do it, but it's all about learning all of the parameters and what they do in Massive (if you're using it). A good thing is starting out with a preset that sounds kind of what you're looking for and then just start tweaking, that's how I did it. I'm really a n00b when it comes to this kind of stuff, only been doing it for like two months haha. But tweaking and using your ears is what I would recommend I think the crazy "lead" parts was some preset that I tweaked, can't remember the name of it! |
