How's about that FW pick...
Thanks for the list Pinkeisch. Just one question. I had not bought another Fates Warning album following APSOG because I was not terribly impressed by it or by the previous release Parallels. Is FWX really worth it?. How would you grade it on a 1 to 10 scale?. Thanks for the info !

Well, my favorite FW CD is after PSOG.... Disconnected is really fantastic (but short). None of the FW CDs have come easily for me. They take time to grow. FWX is no exception. But it is the most similar to Disconnected or even O.S.I. I'd rate it 8.5 - 9/10.

This has been tough.. and my list will be titiled top "prog metal" discs for 2004. As the taggers know, I like a lot of progessive music, but generally I tend to gravitate towards 1) Progessive METAL, 2) Rush-inspired progressive hard rock, 3) Gothic progessive metal & rock. The list is a bit metal-laced. Plus I threw down my 5 fave songs from '04. Here's to a proggin' 2005!
ProgProf's Top 10 Progressive Metal Discs for 2004 1. Magnitude 9 - Decoding the Soul 2. Dreamscape - End of Silence 3. Vox Tempus - In the Eye of Time 4. Time Machine - Reviviscence 5. Empty Tremor - The Alien Inside 6. Lunatica - Fables and Dreams 7. Threshold - Critical Energy [LIVE] 8. Superior - Ultra-Live [LIVE] 9. Trance of Mine - Reflections 10. Threshold -Subsurface Top 5 (well, six) "Can't Stop Playing These" Songs for 2004: 1. "Mighty Abyss" - Pyramaze 2. "Changes" - Magnitude 9 3. "Escape" - Vox Tempus 4. "Torn" - Magnitude 9 T5. "End of Light" - Dreamscape T5. "Flow" - Dreamscape |
