And...for the record about the above comment of reading the Jordan books in succession. Even if you do...they still slow to a crawl. It wasn't a matter of whether you could follow the books, it was a matter of the author actually progressing...the...fucking...story...fur...the... r....(gasp!)... |

Wheel of time is going to have to wait apparently. Made it to chapter 3, chapter 4 if including the prologue.. but the audiobook from audible has issues. for example if I tell it to go to section two for example (which should be chapter 2), it'll go to the end of chapter 4.
I think I'm allowed a refund so until that title's fixed I may go with the Killing Floor as suggested to me as I've already used a free credit on it. Really weird considering the popularity of the title.

Hey Justin...
I know you are a zombie book nut. Have you read any of Tim Curran's books? http://www.corpseking.com/Books.html |

![]() Quite a fun one. Plays out like a normal doctor who tv episode, this one being set on a pirate radio ship back in the day, and the only complaint was that Tennant's voice for one of male characters was a little iffy for me.

![]() The cover would lead you to believe it's smut, but it's not; it's a Lord John Grey novella that takes place during the French and Indian War. Two bucks for the Kindle.

I have read the first three books in her Outlander series - then simply got side-tracked by Steven Erikson's massive Malazan series, but plan to return to Gabaldon's series again. Well-written, well-researched, with great character development - good stuff.

Wondering if anyone has read Wool by Hugh Howey yet? I've only read the sample parts (on a kindle). Pretty damn good so far though!

Current eBook:
![]() After getting back to Honor Harrington, I've realized what the problem I have with these books are: there's no dramatic tension. Basically the enemies in these books are paper tigers and by the time Honor (or her allies) meet them, they are no real threat. It is actually a trend I see in a lot of millitary SF. Current pBook: ![]() My wife handed me this one. Never played the game this is based on and I've never been a big Adams fan. It definitely fits in with Adams' style of normal people getting lost in an uncontrolled automated system, but it is mostly pretty lightweight. |
