I'm in....
I did an interview with Skywest Airlines in Salt Lake City on Monday. At the end, they offered me a job. This is very cool for several reasons. First, I was the least experienced pilot in the group of 10 interviewees by 50%. Second, it was stressful as hell preparing for the interview (it was pretty challenging). Third, this is my first choice airline and they are pretty much known as the best regional airline to work for.
The downside is that they offered me training in the plane I did not want. I'd love to fly the plane, but it is only based on the west coast. That means that every week I will have to commute to the west coast for work. That will eat into my days off pretty significantly, and it may be expensive for me. However, it is only for 1 year. At that point, I can transition to the plane I want and fly out of Chicago. There's a small chance that they will allow me to go to the training for the plane I really want, which would let me fly out of Chicago pretty much from day 1. I have to wait and see though.

Hah! Cool! Congrats!
Skywest is part of/partner with Midwest Airlines, IIRC and my preferred airline of choice when travelling. The company I work for does a lot of biz w/Midwest as well as Skywest.... |

Congrats!
So you're going to pick up all the attendees and fly us to PP this year, right?

Very good job, Mike! That is so awesome. I know this was a long time coming and you put lots of time in to it. Best of luck in getting that plane out of Chicago!
