OT: But music related - stolen gear

I know there are some PP fans in this area, so figured I'd post. Saw this on another board
Local Austin Metal Band have had all their equipment stolen

Austin, TX) SHRAPNEL have had all their equipment stolen for the SECOND time. The theft occured last night from their trailer in the apt complex behind Pluckers on 183/Burnett.

If you live in Austin - San Antonio - Houston - Dallas and know the local musicians/shops/pawn shops please keep an eye out for this equipment. It's all custom flight cased/branded Mesa/Ibanez/Gibson along with cased Drums, bass amps/cabs and guitars with the shrapnel name and logo and not the normal type of equipment you can easily sell/pawn. We'll post a bulletin with the complete list and serial numbers when we get it.

Please repost and if you know any information about the theft please contact Austin PD or Shrapnel via their website at {Shrapnel-ONLINE v1.2 } created by Fireside Creative

FUCK YEAH.

That list, is EXACTLY how you get your stolen gear back. That's the most complete list of band gear I've ever seen.

You WILL get yo shit back. Have faith.

But you MUST print and take this list to every music shop, every pawn shop, every police station... EVERYWHERE.

Good luck to 'em! Getting all your stuff stolen like that really sucks!

At least they didn't get their tour-bus stolen. It happened to Dream Theater once....

Cut & pasted, sent to my work e-mail address. I'll keep an eye out.
Cool that they were smart enough to keep all this documented. It should help.

i listened to a tale about stealing gear by a member of Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso (a 70's Italian band) it occurred BEFORE the performance to one of the bands who used to play with them..... it's really sad for a band to not be able to perform..... and maybe people don't know how many sacrifices you need to obtain some good gear to express your art.... sadly i'm in Rome, but hope they'll found their gear back !

NEVER GIVE UP GUYS !

Last year, Jukka of NW told us that an expensive piece of equipment (lighting/soundboard, I don't remember) was stolen from a locked venue in South America. A local crew member who had access mysteriously never came back to work after the incident. The kicker is, the guy was found shot in his car a few days later.

Not advocating violence, but there's proof of some pretty bad karma.

Good luck finding the stuff!
