For those that are interested, I was going to snag a pp room at one of the local hostels. If there's enough of us, we could get a couple of group rooms.

Excellent! We might take you up on this, once we decide. We're a tad befuddled ... J will probably ask bunches of questions over in the proper forum, too, once we can formulate them.

Lanfear out of Germany is second band to perform on Saturday November 1st 2008, and also for this band we're talking about their "debut" on Danish soil. Powerful metal with a progressive touch, probably most comparable to bands such as Evergrey and Fates Warning, is what this band has to offer. With their new album "X To The Power Of Ten" coming out in September, the ProgPower gig will be the perfect promotion vehicle for Lanfear.
This made my day! Together with ZH Lanfear are my fave band in the Prog and Power Metal genre and now I have the chance to see them both on the same festival!
Hope Lanfear will also release their new album until then. The new ZH kicks major ass, btw!!!

Unfortunately ZERO HOUR has had to cancel their ProgPower Scandinavia appearance due to bassist Troy Tipton having to undergo surgery end of October. We are very saddened to hear this, and we wish Troy a speedy recovery, and hope to see them at ProgPower Scandinavia next year. Please find below the statement from Jasun Tipton in Zero Hour:

. . . .

This is very tough for me to write as we deeply regret to say Zero Hour has to cancel the upcoming live performance at ProgPower Scandinavia. My brother Troy has been struggling with Tendonitis for many years and in the last year the pain in his Ulnar nerve and tendons have pushed him to his limits. Troy has already run up a large amount of medical bills this year. Having met the deductible requirements of his health insurance policy, Troy needs to have the surgery done (followed by 6 weeks of rehabilitation) before the year is up. Unfortunately this created a scheduling conflict with ProgPower Scandinavia.

I want to thank Claus of Intromental/ProgPower Scandinavia for being nothing but supportive towards our decision. Claus is a class-act and has done an amazing job with his promotions work (Intromental Promotions) for Zero Hour over the years. This was going to be our first time playing in Denmark and we were so excited to come play ProgPower Scandinavia. Claus has put together an awesome lineup as all the bands are very talented. We hope ProgPower Scandinavia is a great success because it's a great event run by great people.

We want to apologize to everyone who was looking forward to seeing Zero Hour at ProgPower Scandinavia. This is the first time we've canceled an event and never wanted to be known as that type of band. It's very hard to see my brother in the condition he's in and this is the best thing for Troy and the band in the long run. ProgPower Europe will be our last event of 2008 and we'll do our best to let you know the status of Troy and the band in 2009.

METAL!!
Jasun/ZH

. . . .

With regards to ProgPower Scandinavia, we are of course very disappointed by the fact that we once again have to find a replacement band, as this year seem to be the year of several cancellations. However, we decided to find a band similar to Zero Hour in musical expression, so we chose German technical prog-thrashers MEKONG DELTA to be a suitable and very welcomed replacement band. MEKONG DELTA is a band that we actually had in mind for the original line-up of PP Scandinavia 2008, but with Zero Hour already on the bill, we did not want two bands so close in sound. The unfortunate situation with Zero Hour gives us a good reason for picking up MEKONG DELTA, and we are very proud of having them perform at our festival. If you do not know who MEKONG DELTA are, we urge you to check out their latest album "Lurking Fear" from 2007 or some of their classic albums like "Dances Of Death and Other Walking Shadows" 1990 and "The Principle of Doubt" 1989. MEKONG DELTA is really one of the original progressive metal bands in Europe, and with their hard thrash metal roots, they should make ProgPower Scandinavia into a truly original event.

Now, with only 6 weeks left, let us all hope for no more cancellations Here is the final line-up of ProgPower Scandinavia 2008:

Friday October 31st 2008
19.00-19.45 - Nostradameus (Sweden)
20.05-20.55 - Secret Sphere (Italy)
21.15-22.15 - Wuthering Heights (Denmark/Sweden)
22.35-23.50 - Pagan's Mind (Norway)
00.10-01.40 - Vanden Plas (Germany)

Saturday November 01st 2008
19.00-19.45 - Cloudscape (Sweden)
20.05-20.55 - Lanfear (Germany)
21.15-22.15 - Mekong Delta (Germany)
22.35-23.50 - DeadSoul Tribe (Austria/USA)
00.10-01.40 - Pain Of Salvation (Sweden)

Some people are going to be very very happy about Mekong Delta (even if they are sad about the loss of ZH). Great replacement for a great band.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I am a huge Mekong Delta fanboy myself, so it is pretty darn awesome that we were able to secure those guys now that ZH unfortunately won't make it. Worst part about it though is that as it looks now I myself have to loose out on my own freakin' festival, arghhh. It's pretty tough spending a year on booking & arranging the festival and then not being able to go due to visa issues (as you might know I've moved to USA, got married, and am in the process of obtaining permanent residence over here - unfortunately that means I can't leave the country at this point).
