RIOT Mainman Mark Reale Resurrects Thundersteel Line-Up

Hell Yes!!! I've loved Riot since "Thundersteel". I've actually loved every album since then. The very underrated "The Privilege Of Power", "Nightbreaker", "The Brethren Of The Long House", "Inishmore", "Sons Of Society", "Shine On". "Army Of One". and the disc before that which I can't remember the name. Heres the press release from mainman Mark Reale:

Original RIOT guitarist/mainstay Mark Reale has issued the following update: "I'm in the process of working with all the members from the original 1988 line up (singer Tony Moore, bassist Don Van Staven and drummer Bobby Jarzombek) and have begun writing material for a new record with them. Although some members do have prior commitments hopefully the new record will be release in the late fall of 2008."

Most notably, Jarzombek (who has/continues to occupy the throne with ICED EARTH/HALFORD/PAINMUSEUM) is currently making the rounds with SEBASTIAN BACH on the Angel Down World Tour.

I saw this news earlier today and was quite excited by it! Riot has always been one of those bands who were never really appreciated for their body of work. Mark Reale is a much over-looked guitarist who just keeps on putting out quality material, whether it's with Riot or Westworld . I own all of the Riot stuff, from Rock City to Army of One, and though the style of Riot changed a little over the years, it was all very solid work. It'll be great to hear what this Riot line-up comes up with for an encore to Thundersteel and Privilege of Power!

Great news...Thundersteel is a classic...IMO the best they have ever released. Tony Moore can wail.

Although not as heavy, "Fire Down Under" has gotta be one of the great classics of all time. One of my top 10 fave discs...

Yep! Guy Speranza (sp?) (RIP) was a hell of a singer. Nice raw guitar tone too.
I like all the Riot releases, but the FDU release is probably my favorite.

Well

This is good news - although I am partial to the Rhett years first & foremost, then the Guy Speranza years, THEN the Tony Moore years - I will take any Riot I can get.

Riot for PPX indeed
