Only saw Iced Earth (before Barlow left), back on the tour with Jag Panzer, Quiet Room, & Anvil quite a while ago. Small club, GREAT show! I've seen Jon Oliva in various band configurations, and both groups put on an incredibly good show. Been an Iced Earth & Oliva fan for many many years now....

I've seen...
Iced Earth with Barlow twice and with Ripper three times. They've been phenomenal every time. Amorphis twice. Once in a tiny club, once at Wacken. They were awesome in the club. Amazing vibe to what they do. They're going to slay. Jon Oliva... however many times he's had a project at ProgPower. I love his old Savatage stuff, but in his current incarnation, he literally put me to sleep. Zod

Saw Helloween in Japan for the Rabbit Don't Come Easy. They were incredible! I had also seen them back in the keeper days, but I was not sober by any stretch of the imagination, so I couldn't say for sure how they were back then. I've also seen Rob Rock with Impelliteri and he is awesome. Oh, and Oliva with Savatage back in the Streets days, also great live.

Iced Earth -- too many times to remember. Most recently in their current incarnation at Chicago Powerfest. It was amazing... like Barlow had never left.
Amorphis - once. They were performing mostly stuff from Tuonela, which was good but the songs sort of droned on and on so they eventually became boring. I don't anticipate that problem this year. Jon Oliva's Pain - once, at ProgPower... I initially found the performance to be a bit boring, but I wasn't at all familiar with the material at the time, and have since grown to love his solo stuff.

Of course Iced Earth, I think five times.
Barlow is the most evil human on earth. You want evil? You go talk to Matt. I wanna see him be a werewolf in the next Underworld movie. Or maybe replace the Undertaker in the WWF. Cuz as evil as Mark Calloway is, he can't scream like Barlow. ![]() |

Rob Rock - Super High energy. LOVES what he does and it shows.
Iced Earth - I thought they were spot on and really dynamic at Powerfest. I don't like their CDs, but live I thought they were great. Helloween - Not quite as high energy as I thought they would be and it seems, from my recollection, that Deris does the "hold the mic over the crowd thing" a bit too much.

Saw Iced Earth a couple of times, opening for Megadeth and In Flames in the early noughties (01 or 02?), as I recall, touring on Horror Show. Since then it seems Matt has lost nothing of his voice—just the long red locks. :-)
Caught Amorphis headlining the New England Metal Fest around that time as well. They were OK, Pasi was the singer then and he was not too convincing as a frontman. Looking forward to experiencing the new cat, as well as all the other bands who will be new shows to me. |

Amorphis - Excellent live show. They will be one of the highlights of ProgPower.
Riverside - Simply put, TOP 3 concerts I've ever been to in life. Iced Earth - Saw them with Ripper, great show. Can't wait to see Barlow destroy! Helloween - Good show, if the setlist is right, you can't go wrong. Gamma Ray - Same as Helloween, Kai's awesome! Manticora - Expect a high energy performance. Circle II Circle - They put on a good show. Jon Oliva's Pain - Come on, 80% of their setlist is Savatage material. How can it not be good? |

I doubt that. They have three albums out now; they're bound to do mostly their own stuff. I wouldn't rule out some Savatage material, perhaps even including Zak since he'll be there too.
