No, he's a metal vocalist. Isn't that what ANNIHILATOR is? A metal band.

Kudos to Jeff Waters for thinking outside of the box.

Wow!! I saw them at PP1, but had never heard of them. I enjoyed their set but wasn't blown away. I still listened to ISoT and RD when they came out, but they still didn't have me hooked. Oddly enough it was hanging out with Don Capps one night @ PP5 and he had The Inner Circle on and ever since I have been HOOKED!! Its funny that so many of you are talking about liking them up until The Inner Circle. Oh well... I personally am looking forward to the new CD and the artwork is awesome too!

"Inner Circle" is my favorite after "Recreation Day".

Come on now, glad to see the Annihilator love here, but Dave Padden is an awesome vocalist. Granted, he is no Randy, Aaron, Joe, Jeff, or Coburn, but he isn't supposed to be. Every vocalist Annihilator has had has changed their style with their unique to the band approach. Dave is no different. I like Dave, and I think Jeff does too, seeing that he is the only vocalist to go as far in the band as he has.

Now, not to further derail this thread, the never Evergrey looks promising.

They were better as a thrash band. They've long outlived their usefulness. Even as a metal vocalist, this dude is awful.

And that's why it's Jeff's band, not mine. I think they've sucked on their last three releases (well, more than that, but those especially) largely because of the vocals. Good for him for continuing, good for him for retaining some fans. I'll never watch them live again though.

To each his own I guess, its your opinion and you can have it. As for not seeing them live, you are just one less person for me to hack my way through to get to the front. They are still and have been for a while one of my favorite bands.

Sounding like and looking like a return to form! The cover for MMA was awful and the samples did nothing to inspire me to buy it, and so, I don't have it. Can't say the same about their forthcoming effort though!

I like what I have heard so far and I am looking forward to this release. I hope they get on a good tour here in the U.S. for 2008/2009.
