I'll be there too (along with my girlfriend Jaimie)! We're getting into Helsinki on the 25th of June and leaving on the 8th of July. When will you be arriving/leaving Paulhua?

I did Keep It True X in April with my friends from Switzerland.
Festival wise hitting Rocklahoma in Pryor Oklahoma Headbangers Open Air in Germany - what a lineup! Wacken Open Air in Germany Kansas City Power Metal Festival in Kansas City Midwest Metal Anthem in Chicago, IL ProgPower USA in Atlanta, GA Next year due to rising travel costs it looks like probably Keep It True XII in April Rocklahoma in July Kansas City Power Metal Festival (hoping for a second one) ProgPower (iffy, trying to figure out who Glenn can bring I haven't already seen at least once these days) I always keep an eye on the Chicago fests and go if the lineup is enough to draw me (Alehorn of Power, Midwest Metal Anthem, Powerfest), and watch the female metal festival in Minneapolis too, but gotta draw the line somewhere on costs. I keep wishing the Chicago Powerfest would have more bands I "need" to see on a regular basis. All the power to them and I know they had a good turnout this year, but I enjoyed going the year Nocturnal Rites, Biomechanical and Agent Steel played. Maybe 2009 the lineup will be more to my liking. |

Got back from Germany a couple days ago. The Vanden Plas Christ 0 rock opera was really great! We had great seats 2nd row center but the orch. pit is so low you couldn't see the band at all unless you stood up. They played great and the sound was really good. The opera itself was very entertaining and even though I could not understand the speaking parts that were in German, I really enjoyed it.
It was interesting too look around the audience and see a wide array of people. Many were older people who probably come to all the performances at the theater. Afterwards, we went up to the "kantine" behind the theater where the performers and workers go to eat afterwards. We met all the VP guys except Andy Kuntz, and talked for a while with Andreas Lill and Gunter Werno - nice guys. They are hoping to come back and play PP in the future - that would be great. |
