Galneryus for PPUSAX!
So I know it may be a bit early to start these, but I'm thinking I might be putting up a few "insert band here" for Progpower X threads. I'd like to see who agrees with me on some band and just MAYBE we'll catch Glenn's attention
![]() Galneryus! Good heavy power metally Japanese goodness. I'm expecting Tammy to be one of the first to reply to this. Come on, you know you want some Sirent Reveration!

I'd like to see them. But, hasn't Glenn said something before about the cost of booking/expenses for bands from Japan/Australia, or was it just Australia?

The problem is that unless its a headliner, it costs too much. Flight cost (especially if he has to deal with inflexibility of arrival/departure dates) can be $4k+ per person. Cheapest flights are around $1100. With a 1000 ticket venue it just isn't realistic unless the band takes the loss on their own and hopes to make it back with merch + US touring.

*nods* We all know I want to see this band. They're not perfect, but I enjoy them immensely. However, as Cheiron pointed out, it's difficult. Maybe if a band from Japan could come over for 2 or 3 shows and split the cost with the promoters, themselves, and record labels if possible. Who knows... I don't know how BAR Fest got Concerto Moon over here just to be an opener. Maybe they already live in the U.S.? That helps if they live here, but not many of them do.

Well Tokyo to say LAX is a tad cheaper (oddly not by as much as one might think...).
I'm guessing label support.

Meh...I would rather have Sex Machineguns. They'd also probably be a bit more acceptable to most of this fest. Sort of like seeing Loudness but without the suck! They also put on a good live show and they're sort of goofy and oddball in the same way as Mustasche. Lastly, they've played a show in the states before (in Nashville of all places).

I saw the Sex Machineguns when I used to be stationed in Japan. They are great live! I'd love to see them in the U.S. but I agree it is wicked expensive. Used to cost my family and I $4-6000 to come home on leave and that was thru military oriented travel agencies with good discounts. I couldn't imagine what a Japanes travel agent/ticket agency would charge...
