Thoughts on the Riverside set?
I am interested to see what everyone thought about their set. I enjoyed the hell out of it from the front, and it sounded like everyone else did too.... but I was too caught up with the performance to look around.

That was one very tight, clean, and (from what I can tell), flawless set they put together (if they made a mistake, I certainly could not tell). Not only that it was a very nice refreshing change from all the typical bang your head and pump your fist in the air metal. It was just great to sit there and just enjoy this set and groove out to them. Awesome indeed! ![]()

Tried to like it. It made me very sleepy so I jetted to the VIP and then the dealer's room. They did not win me over and I like to give bands that chance. Amorphis, for example, I enjoyed and was not expecting too.

I was way up in the back, and it sounded amazing. Tone on the instruments was awesome, drums were crisp and well-played, and the keyboardist did some awesome work. I think if I were down on the floor, I would have gone into a trance like state, too. I'm pushing these guys on all my friends who are Porcupine Tree fans. Hands down, I think Riverside is better.

Riverside and Andromeda were the definate low-points of PP for me. I'm not too into prog-rock, and these just seemed like total elevator music, 70's jam-band type songwriting. i couldn't sit through most of riverside - ended up walking out to look at merch about 20 minutes into the set...
