Gamma Ray - Greatest Finale EVAAAAR

Ladies and gentlemen, if you're a rock star, born and raised to be an attention whore and beat awesomeness into an audience, then THAT is how you end a show.

I simply can't believe how they could milk it more and more and even more! I thought Kai was gonna split his head open falling off the kick drums! Twice!!! True metal devastation all setlist long, incredible crowd interaction, but that finale is one for the record books. I wish it was filmed, I wish it was recorded for the whole world to see!

Did he do the thing where he tosses his guitar in the air and catches, it, then does it again, then acts like he's going to do it a third time then stops and shakes his finger at the audience?

HAH! No he didn't do that! But he was lucky to even catch his guitar the first time, he nearly had cymbal stands impale his ass!!! His drummer had to brace him!!! I think after that wobbly toss he remembered about mortality. Heh heh heh.

Too funny!
At the Pearl Room, when Kai did that at the end, that's exactly what I was thinking as well!! Must be also due to the flying V.

Anyhow, yes, Gamma Ray are true metal masters.
One of the most flawless and professional performances ever.

I was not much of a Gamma Ray fan, no that's wrong, I was not a Gamma Ray fan at all....but after watching that show...Holy Crap!!! That was a great show and once again I'm glad I take the "I'll watch the first few songs of all the bands and see how it goes" approach. I give it a 10!

Yes, Gamma Ray was great (I actually dug Helloween a little more....I'm a Helloween fanboy after all!), but c'mon folks....how quick do we forget past performances that, to me, were equally or even more mind-blowing. Pagan's Mind and After Forever last year, Tad Morose and Brainstorm from PP5, Vanden Plas from PP4.....and the list goes on. Yeah, Gamma Ray was fun....but they were just one of MANY bands who kicked ass at ProgPower.
Oh.....I forgot....do we remember what Firewind did last year? Incredible performance!

Gamma Ray was amazing. I am a huge fan and have never seen them and they were better than I thought they would be. Kai is a master front man!

I know more Helloween songs than GR songs, but no question that GR had the better, tighter sound. Great night of metal since Manticora were good too. And I actually sat down for a show for once! In a seat! How rare!

I'd been waiting with baited breath every year for Gamma Ray's return to PP since III. They came out flying and didn't stop! I had no idea how Helloween was going to top that performance.
