OUCH -- the nearly-visible Uriah Heep URL is the only redeeming quality in this shot. :-)
Nasty pattern noise from exposure compensation -- try pushing the black point further up and going B&W, with Noise Ninja / Neat Image on top. Split-toning can work wonders too.

Hehe. It was a 2 second export. The RAW was so hard I could barely make it out, but it was the only one in the series I had that you weren't bathed in horrible magenta light.
.. I just bumped the shadow/dark curve and called it a day. I'm about 12 pictures deep into my Cage shots tonight. PP is killer.

Well, hell, I'm gonna go listen to that excellent song RIGHT NOW. ![]() Awesome pics. I love the looong shot of FW from the back; gives a bit more scale as to the size of the venue. (Not too big....but it's not tiny either.)

I was gonna say something, but everything that can be said about that has already been said... too much. (And I used to live in Pittsburgh, so I know Donnie Iris' music all too well...)

FINALLY finished my Cage shots. Best ones here (that I haven't posted), some slightly more disappointing ones on my flickr page

Thank you. I'm getting better and better with with Post, learning all sorts of cool tricks. To be honest, I fell in love with the richness and detail of your photos and try to mimic it a bit with what I have. I'm really starting to pay more attention to color AND subject, rather than just the subject, and finding my pictures pop quite a bit more now.

Awesome DSO pic
That is a great picture. The whole time I was watching them - that guitarist reminded me of Ginger from the Wildhearts, which made him even cooler

Thanks Jeff. Will be working on these probably this weekend. Seemed more like the Andy Johnsson show though, from what I've got

Just a printing FYI for everyone: I just got some proofs I sent out back from Nations Photo Lab. I had them printed on Metallic Print paper. I had one done of my cage crowd shot and one done of Par Sundstrom. The Cage crowd shot I had printed at 8x12, and the Par shot was 4x6. Paid ~$3.50 total (and 7$ shipping up to $50 order). $10 for 2 prints you may say is a bit outrageous, but I wanted to see the quality before I put in a big order. How is that quality you ask?
Un. Fucking. Believable. I can't even describe it. The metallic print puts a glean and a shimmer on the photos that is evidenced in a certain light. The colors are spectacular. Deep contrast, beautiful saturation, I just.. I could NOT be happier. I want to run out and buy an 8x12 frame for this Cage shot right now. I was worried it would be cheesy and stupid looking, but man oh man.. ![]() The metallic ink/paper/printer are not something you can get at home, and they'll even do color correction at a very small cost. I chose not to have it done as I knew I liked my shots the way they were, but if you've got a shot you want printed, I could not suggest this place more highly. Wow.

I've been using WHCC for prints for years -- 2-day shipping included and only a $12 order minimum. Pro-oriented but photo geeks accepted. :-)
If you are a Costco member, they are great for short-notice prints -- no fancy papers, but you can disable color correction (which is always evil for concert shots) via the web ordering system. A lot of folks like Mpix too.

![]() Worked on this one for an hour tonight. Had to clone out a mic stand. Painful work, and I didn't do a very good job. >.<
