ok old thread but i had to voice my opinion.
i have never found agolloch in the least interesting , i think their songs are boring , their lyrics are ok at best and they sound pretty repetitive , whereas empyrium is my favorite band of all time , forget weiland , weiland is not even close to being their best album , songs of moors & misty fields is in my humble opinion the best album in history , NOTHING will ever surpass the emotions and desperation found on that album , just read the lyrics on songs of moors & misty fields and tell me where agolloch is ??? they could never write something like that , agalloch lyrics are not on the same level AND their songs are just downright uninspired at times , i think it all comes down to personal preference , i prefer empyrium and some of you guys may prefer agolloch , but you have to admit empyrium lyrics were way SUPERIOR , markus would put shakespeare to shame

Although, I can't say I agree with him. I always found Empyrium's lyrics, just as Agalloch's, quite a bit pretentious.

just my opinion , there is no comparison , empyrium is just better , i've always found agalloch boring , they're not even in my top 100 , seriously , i tried listening to them once but agalloch can lull me to sleep i like tons of bands but agalloch is not one of them , period .
