Anyone else hate it when...

You buy a cd and the teeth that make up the center circle that hold the cd in place arrive broken?

As much as I enjoy purchasing physical cd's from bands I want to check out, I received 3 cd's today and every single one had broken plastic "circle teeth" to the extent that you open the cd jewel case and the cd falls right out to the floor.

Certainly a legit reason to mull over going digital with my music collection.

Jewel cases in general are just cheap as ass looking. All that plastic, yuk.

Last three albums I got were digipaks. The original pressing of Dawn's "Slaughtersun", and a couple of Manilla Road digis. Now granted, this doesn't solve the problem necessarily for broken jewel case teeth since they both use that same mechanism, but at least the digipak looks nicer at the end of the day, broken teeth or not. Digipacks can look nicer, but they can also look like complete arse after sitting under a pile of cd's for months at a time.

Plus, jewel cases (if not stepped on or damaged in shipping) survive the elements of time better than digipacks do. Digipacks tend to wither like 60 year old pussy.

I like Digipacks, but I dont like the monsterously huge, mishapen ones (ala King Diamonds "The Puppet Master").

Can't say I've got a single broken digi. I admit, that Manes Vilosophe plastic fell off, but I just glued the cunt right back on.

Absolutely agree here. I've had that happen multiple times as well.

I've never seen a digipak with broken teeth. I imagine I'd be pretty pissed, but I rarely replace regular cases anyhow. I just stare at them, say GOD DAMMIT!!! then stare at my huge pile of perfectly okay empty jewel cases, say GOD DAMMIT!!! then go back to eating my potato.
