I've just had so many okay to good Ales in pubs, but I have no idea which ones are good, so I think I'm just going to print off the top 10-20 beers on beer advocate of a certain style and see if I can find them.
The store I go to has hundreds of beers and changes out every week, and their site has tons of broken links, so you can't tell what they carry. |

I was reminded by Eric's post about Spaten's Optimator last night when I finally managed to get a hold of a 12oz. First dopplebock I've ever had, and it was fucking DELISH! Probably pick up a 6 pack this weekend and review it.

Eh I'm done with snobby beer purchases for the time being. When the mood arises I'm simply going to pick up a 6 pack of Hoegaarden. Fuck the accolades that come with being a beer snob, $8.99 Buddhas. Purchasing expensive beer is beginning to become as rational as refinancing your home in order to afford installing a backyard waterfall.

Whenever I visit a site like BA I'm reminded that there are more weird beers out there than obscure basement black metal projects.
I have the following in my fridge and/or cupboard right now: Deschutes Obsidian Stout (was my #1 for years, now not so much) Samuel Smith Imperial Stout (one of the best beers ever) some Pacifichodes ![]() Stone Double Bastard Rogue Shakespeare Stout Unibroue Trois Pistoles New Belgium Fat Tire |
