First post was asking if any of the prospective attendees have looked in to hotel arrangements.
Second post was nonsense about bigfoot, deliberately deleted to further perpetuate the analogy made by Derick.

Dudes, if a good contingent of you guys are coming out for this then I'll definitely drive up for it. It's about a six hour haul from my house, but I'd be down to come up. Plus, this time I can actually drink with you guys

It's looking very probable that I will be there with Ben, driving instead of flying.

Flights are still unpleasing out of the range I'm willing to part with for such an excursion. Has anybody made arrangements for this shindig?

Ben and I are for sure. Just have to get a hotel room. We are going up to Toronto the next day and then will see The Gates of Slumber on the Monday.

I'll have 2 more spots in my car, maybe three if you want to squish. We were going to go to this metal bbq (Toronto one) and check out record shops and generally fuck around. Probably drop Matt off at some random street, etc.

Next event I'm trying to hit is Noctis Valkyries 3 in Calgary which has the lineup of Destroyer 666, Slough Feg, Novembers Doom, and Ares Kingdom so far with more TBA. |

That's shaping up quite nicely. I went to the first incarnation, but the venue is complete and utter shit if you're a boozer. You have to leave the stage area entirely, climb down a flight of stairs to a makeshift "beer garden", where you're sequestered until your piss poor domestic is consumed to the very last drop. The sound system is quite mediocre to boot.

First time i've ever wanted to go to Calgary.. or anywhere in Alberta.
![]() Apparently there are rumors Aura Noir will play Noctis as well. Probably will have to find some way to attend this show. |

Yeah, one night is at a smaller bar, the other night is at their main university venue.
Honestly, as long as they have 1 or 2 of the unibroue brews, I won't mind. But if it's all moosehead, I'm playing it sober. |

Matt, I see you made it to the show, how was it? Report of the gig and all underlying shenanigans!

I don't think I'm the right one to write up a cohesive run-down of the weekend in Rochester or Swizzle & Ben's couple of days in Canadia... maybe Vittra will do the honours!
I will say, however, that John Gallo is a great and very hospitable guy, had us over to his place and everything. The bands were top-notch, extremely tight, a joy to watch. For me, Ogre and Against Nature were the absolute highlights... a damn shame Ogre's breaking up. I was not feeling too hot during the 2nd half of the night and spent most of it outside talking to bands or back at the hotel sleeping. Thus I missed Revelation, Iron Man and Orodruin but have seen em all before. I know it would have been incredible, but I just couldn't do it! The Bug Jar was a decent place, with cheap beer... $4 pints of Dead Guy and $2 bottles of PBR We hit up an excellent beer store... I'd better bump that Snobby Purchases thread. I'm drinking an Oaked Arrogant Bastard right now! I had a blast last weekend, thanks to Vittra, Swizzlenuts and Ben Ware for all the laughs, beers, and good times ![]() |
