I assume the delay/verb/whatever on his effects only unit are 100% wet ye ?
maybe he is routing the amp sound of axe-fx 1 into the "effects only" axe-fx 2 and recording both units, but that's just me guessing here

It's a bit too loud, you can hear the whole mix slightly distorting, other than that it's pretty cool
