Mercy Falls reviews
Please post here any reviews about Mercy Falls, so anyone who wants to read about others opinions could easily reach for the links. I know I am searching those reviews almost daily, so if anyone else is like me, maybe could be helpful.
For the begining, first 2 reviews I found: http://www.progressivemelodies.com/2...ls-review.html and http://www.treehouseofdeath.com/?p=726 |

Another awesome review
Here is one from the states: http://www.ytsejam.com/modules.php?n...ontent&id=1451
This is a great, great CD! It took me several spins to appreciate the brilliance as the melodies are not "in your face" like WITW. My personal favs include Unbreakable, Fall in Line, and Break the Silence. Nice work Andreas! Too bad you aren't touring the states. I'd be in the front row screaming my lungs out!! ![]() |

My review in Dutch magazine Aardschok:
http://www.aardschok.nl/ Band: Seventh Wonder Album: Mercy Falls Label/Distribution: Lion Music/Bertus Myspace: http://www. myspace. com/officialsw Reviewer: Henri Serton Result: 92/100 The Swedish band Seventh Wonder is active since the year 2000. Their first album 'Become" did not gain any spectacular reviews but that changed with the release of their second album 'Waiting in The Wings". It was in 2006 that I heard 'Waiting in The Wings' and was very positively surprised. We had to wait for two years but now finally there is at last the third album called 'Mercy Falls'. Seventh Wonder has accepted the challenge to write a concept album with this new releases. Just like on the previous album singer Tommy Karevik shines with his incredible vocals. At some moment his voice gives me goosebumps. I have earlier compared Seventh Wonder as a mix of Journey, Dream Theater and Symphony X. A comparison that's a bit too easy, I admit. Because Seventh Wonder really does have their own sound. The band alternates between great prog-metal passages and wonderful melodic vocal lines that are layered in a impressive way. This gives Seventh Wonder a unique sound. Since the last album the music has become a bit more complex. Still the bands has never loses sight of their intention to write good and memorable songs. Songs like 'Unbreakable', 'Tears From A Son' and 'Hide And Seek' are true jewels that despite their sometimes complicated structure still are songs that you can sing along to. While the mystery in the story unfolds you feel yourself drawn more and more into the story. In short I can only take off my cap in respect for the achievement that is 'Mercy Falls'. As far as I am concerned you can put this album next to 'Operation: Mindcrime from Queensryche and 'Metropolis Pt 2- Scenes From A Memory' from Dream Theater. It's that good. A must for those who love prog-metal, prog-rock, AOR or just anyone who likes good music. The release date of this album is the 12th of September. If you are planning to buy an album on that day, let it be this one. |

Hi guys!
No less than two 100% reviews dropped in today! Wow -this is really a humbling experience. It is not often albums score this way and even though I am still too close to the horrible times of the writing/recording-thing to even say I am pleased with the result, -this kind of response to something you have created is of course mind blowing. Huge thanks to everyone who appreciates our music!!!! http://www.dangerdog.com/reviews_200...rcy-falls.html http://www.imperiumi.net/alb_2.php?id=8015 |

Well, when writing music from the heart in ways like you guys do, you WILL 'touch' a lot of people....
You should know, and i hope you do know, that your music means a lot or even everything to them/us. I guess, WE are the ones who should be thankfull for the music you make! You guys deserve no less than awesome reviews. I know they will keep on coming and i know that the fanbase will grow. People will talk about this awesome band called Seventh Wonder. |

I won´t be able to translate that review now, but he basically states that the album hit him harder than any album in a long time and mentiones MF to be as good as the best stuff from Ayreon, Dream Theater and Nightingale. He also says that the album catches you right at the beginning and won´t let go until in the end. Also he says the drama in the story is awesome and the musicianship is very well balanced and classy, arrangements are genius and vocalist Tommy´s almost perfect singing. The reviewer ends the review by stating that this is the album of the year 2008. Btw, this is my 1st post here and I´m a very new fan of the band. Infact, I heard Hide&Seek from the finnish radio last wednesday and after that song, I was totally sold!!! I immediately ordered the special edition from Lion music´s webshop and now I´m VERY anxiously waiting for the cd+dvd to arrive... So far, I have had to settle to the soundclips of your webpage and myspace. ![]() I also mentioned about your masterpiece at certain drummer´s forum... http://www.mikeportnoy.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=2130009 Sorry about the long off-topic, but at the moment I´m so excited to hear the epic of "Mercy Falls". |

Here is another one, courtesy of www.rockreport.be:
http://www.rockreport.be/review.asp?id=2202 “Mercy Falls” is the third album in four years from this excellent Swedish progmetal band and they keep on surprising me with the high quality of their output. “Become” (2005) was already very good, the follow-up “Waiting In The Wings” (2006) was great and at least the same can be said of the brand-new “Mercy Falls”, which turns out to be a concept album ‘based on the fate of a small town, a family tragedy and … human nature’. Mainly written while on tour in Europe in 2007, the new album offers all the ingredients we dared to expect from the five band members: superb songs with a wealth of variety and tempo changes, soaring vocals from Tommy Karevik, fiery axework from Johan Liefvendahl, subtle yet effective keyboards from Andreas Söderin, a solid rhythm section from the pair of Andras Blomqvist and Johnny Sandin, plus an excellent sound (Seventh Wonder, Daniel Flores, Tommy Hansen) and a deluxe packaging (although there’s also a standard CD available). I just hope Lion Music can keep this flagship, because I’m afraid they’re becoming too huge for such a small label! Absolutely recommended, once again!!! (CL) Members' opinions: kotzenfan (on 3/10/08) My first time through I didn't find this album to be fantastic. Now after a few more listens it has really opened up into a killer album. The concept story is interesting as well. Great job! E (on 3/10/08) The best album of 2008 till now. Great musicians and even better songs. Hope they will come to the Netherlands very soon. SUPERB!!!! YNGWIEVIKING (on 3/10/08) Very good MELODIC PROG METAL ! very easy to catch and pretty melodic even if the technical parts & the many rhythmic twist and turns of the genre are present here ! very good band as the previous albums already warned us !
