First time I heard about it it was 4 or so months ago. I'm sitting with a friend and he gets a phone message and I'm like whos messaging you? Hes like Twitter.. I'm like wtf? And then he goes on to tell me that Twitter messages him every 15 mins. or so to ask him a random question like whats he doing, what did he eat today etc. etc. So I ask why? And he tells me just because. So now.. everytime I see this guy, every 15 minutes hes shoving his head down into his phone answering a dumb question that nobody reads or cares about.

I've concluded that its just blogging really, but a lot shorter.

Actually it's more like sending an instant message (up to 140 characters) to everyone on your friends list at the same time. Twitter only pesters him like that cuz he asked it to..that's not a default thing.
