I think he means one that is not completely finished on the mixing part, but still sounds ok. I'd love to hear a song too. But I understand if it's not a very good idea as they're looking for a label. Maybe the labels don't like when Theocracy are giving away material from their new album for free, before release. But I don't know, just a thought...

Just a quick update...
Mixes are going well! I've got around 1/3 of the album totally done now, and I'm really happy with the way it's come out. I'm getting tired of the thin, piccolo-sounding snares and inaudible bass on so many Metal releases today, so this album will kind of be a reaction to that. Fat snare, fat bass. But it's still very clear; I think it strikes a nice balance between size and clarity. Can't wait for you all to hear it!
We have a show Friday, so that will push things back a bit, but we should still be looking at 2 or 3 weeks, Lord-willing, for the album to be complete.

Thanks!

We had some early sketches done, but the primary label we're in discussions with is talking about art direction, etc. and seems willing to put a lot of time and effort into doing it right, so we're just kind of going to see if it pans out with them as hoped, and then figure out what to do about artwork.

It LOOKS like (Lord-willing, knock on wood, etc.) I should be done with the album on Sunday, September 9 (give or take a day or two).

Yeah!!

I have been waiting for this album for a very long time. This fall/winter will be an awesome time for music. This new album, Rob Rock's Garden of Chaos and Iced Earth's Framing Armageddon. Matt, if you worked half as hard as you did on the last album, this new one should be the finest CD in my collection, until you come out with a new one of course!

That's awesome! What do you think the ETA might be for when we are actually holding the album in our hands? Any rough estimates?

I guess that would be better determined after we talk to a label about stuff accordingly. So I don't even know if Matt could give you a rough estimate on that quite yet. You know labels can be funny about releases and such. Though I could just be blowin steam and not know what Im talking about lol. Im just basing my answer on research I've done about how labels handle their artists/music.

judging on how some label work
id say after they talk to the label maybe 3 or 4 months til the Cd comes out.
hopefully a single will come out the first or second month and the next 2-3 months full-on promotion.

thats a good guess

OK, how are things coming with the label scene? Have you guys narrowed it down pretty good?

Oh man, I feel so sad that I didn't check out your first album before. I mean, I heard about the album a few years ago and thought, "Now that I must check out". But I didn't, and now I feel annoyed of what I've missed. I saw the album at my local record shop and decided to finally check it out. And WOW, I'm totally blown away, I've been listening to the album practically non-stop for the past two weeks, and still it shows no signs of weaknesses. The song Theocracy is just breathtaking, I played it when we had music in school, and man how everyone went silent. All of them knew that I listened to metal, they were probably waiting for extreme metal or something .

Matt, there is only one thing to do: /applaude. Thank you for taking the time to make this even though you were alone, simply amazing.

I kinda feel happy though for being "late", cause now I won't have to wait that long for the new album to come out \,,/. And btw, the new song kicks ass =D.

Unfortunately, some more computer issues (imagine that) slowed my progress this week. After tonight, though, there will only be three more songs to mix, so we're looking at about the end of the week for the album to be done.

Good, because we have a show on Friday and my long-awaited vacation starts Monday.

Will the full version of "Skeletor Goes To Mars" be on the new CD? Haha.

Well I think Matt put it best at practice last night, we can't be holding our breath on stuff like this due to the fact that people can change their minds at the last minute. So we're just seeing how things pan out and whatever direction it goes is the direction it was meant to. Not much we can do when the ball isn't in our court ya know?

So.... It's been quiet for some days now. What's happening?
Matt, have you finished the mixing? How's it going with the whole label-thingy? Any news at all?

We're all really happy with the way everything has turned out. The next step is learning/rehearsing the newest material, and then we'll track all the drums in one fell swoop on Shawn's nice new kit. I can't wait! Don't get me wrong, we have a fair bit of stuff recorded already, but now that the writing's done we can really concentrate and start to hit it hard.

We have a tracklisting ready, and we have 4 songs either partially or totally written that will go on album #3, so writing-wise we already have a big headstart on that album as well.

I'm just so excited to finally be done writing...I can't even quite believe it's real!

Can't wait for you all to hear the album!
Yes... major bump!! I just really liked this comment, No wonder writing didn't take so long. Plus... it means u think ahead. Good for us... faster release!!!!
