The Local

When will Theocracy be playing another show at The Local venue in Marietta? I always try to make those gigs whenever possible. Thanks!

I wonder what the 2 opening acts sound like? I'm sure they'll be great, though, as Hoyt NEVER books bands I don't love!

Hey Matt, will you guys please play The Writing In The Sand for me at this show? I'd
really appreciate it! I hope to pick up a shirt, as well!

Right on, Val! I am SO happy you got the lead axe gig in Theocracy, my friend! I will dearly miss EbS, but I am SO stoked that you'll be kicking ass with Theocracy-my favorite local band and also one of my all-time fave metal bands, no joking! See ya on May 2nd!

The support acts include members of the ProgPower community:

Mortal Enticement is a young neo-classical power metal act who have a dual-guitar attack and will feature a guest vocalist - none other than Patrick Hoyt Parris (ex-Theocracy; ex-EBS). If you love Iron Maiden (and I know you do, Clay!), then you'll love these guys. I promise!

Oblivion Myth is a melodic power metal band from Nashville, TN. who I have had the pleasure of working with on two occasions in the past. They show influences from Fates Warning, Ronnie James Dio, Iron Maiden, and other early metal bands, while having the touch of recent power and progressive metal bands such as Symphony X, Dream Theater, and Kamelot.

May 2nd will be a fantastic night for prog/power metal fans in metro Atlanta!

Right on, Hoyt! Maiden IS my favorite band of all time, but Theocracy have already creeped up to about #20! I just love those guys! I can't wait to see the opening acts, and you know how much I love Patrick's vocal style! I was just listening to the EbS "Destroying The World" EP yesterday, as a matter of fact! I am also very happy that Val Allen Wood is now a part of Theocracy! May 2nd will kick eternal ass!

We've been talking to our temporary bass player and there's talk about him not being able to make it but it's NOT definite so I'll keep everyone posted
but as far as the set I am pretty sure it will be a good 55 minutes!

Absolutely, come down! That would make this gig even more fun. As for set length, that's up to Hoyt (the promoter). We're playing 60-70 minutes in Switzerland, and hopefully we can try that same set at the May 2 show. So it should be a pretty good set!

so far its looking pretty good. one of my two friends that i have invited is definitely coming. the other one is going to ask off from work for the show. as soon as we know if she can be off we are going to make arrangements to stay overnight i'm very excited.

i haven't been able to listen to the other bands at the may 2nd show but the descriptions looked promising

i'm also going to see fireflight and flyleaf in the next few months. neither of them are favorites of mine, but are decent bands (i like fireflight better). my friends like them more than i do, so i'm just going to go with them. should be fun.

theocracy owns all christian, metal, and christian metal bands!

Sounds good, guys! What happens if the temporary bassist doesn't show? What will you do? Any updates as to when a permanent bass player will be named? I am REALLY looking forward to your set on May 2nd! I'm also looking forward to seeing the other 2 bands, as well. Rock on!

Can Matt play/pimp the bass at this show? I know that Val was brought on so Matt doesn't have to play but it would be pretty neat...

Maybe one of the previous bassists could help out (this suggested given that I don't know the current status/relationship of these guys with the band...)? And if they know/can learn enough of the new album...

As a matter of fact, ex-bassist patrick will be there, as he is guest-fronting one of the opening acts. Maybe he could fill in on a few tracks? Just a sugestion, if necessary.
