please i need impulses for guitar best for metal.
what can i use?
catharsis or gods cab should be a good start
GuitarHack or Katharsis. I love Hack's Edge samples for metal rhythm.
God's Cab or Ryan's impulses.
Because I helped make them and Ryan is sexy.
ASEM RECTO V30 L2 (greg impulse) combine with orange_2_mics, IMO perfect for lecto
What you may consider a great impulse may be considered shit to another. There are no ideal impulses. Even an ideal impulse may sound like shit on a terrible amp sim, same vice versa. With that being said, some of the most respected impulses on here are catharsis impulses , asem recto v3 l2, orange_2_mics, guitarhack, fredman, gods cabs, Clark Kent Match EQ IR Collection. Or do what a lot of are starting to do, create your own match impulse using Clark Kent's Guide. http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/production-tips/710368-yt-match-eq-ir-tutorial.html
i demo`ed recabinet 3.1, really like it! i will buy it as soon as the next paycheck arrives..
I have found that combining different god's cab IR's suits me best.
But i really liked the asem recto and orange cab ir's too. (you can get the orange one by searching it on youtube )
can i use impluses with a mic distorted track by and mesa boogie amplifier? or i need do it DI?
To use ir's you want to have a di track going through an amp sim to the ir. OR record your amp through the fx loop fx send and hit it with an ir.
If you mic your amp and put it through a ir youre recording guitar like xzibit and get weird boomines.
I like Sperimental Pack mesa and engl impulses, and kathalen from time to time it sounds realy close to what I used to hear from my cab live
Asem Recto V30 combined w/ Mesa Traditional V30 w/ Guitarhack FinalV2.
Those 3 sound tits all together into Lecab2.
last time i went through my collection, i stopped at Burny's Mesa ir's, which is what i use most of the time since then.
+1 for catharsis, I'm endingup using them lately, they feel alive in the mix.
