That comments not gonna go over to well.
dawn of a million souls, and the one on the live version of through the looking glass
On those songs from the Germany show, I thought the first solo in Inferno sounded a lot better than it did on the studio version.
I like the solo's Of Sins and Shadows a lot. Also Candelight Fantasia.
Special mention goes to Russel Allen's ending of Divine Wings Of Tragedy on the live version....
'All I know...is my paradise..has..........beeeeegunnnn....'
Am I the only one who likes Lady of the Snow's solos?
Anyway, mentioning Kate Bush, why am I getting the wrong impression that Gary Moore would appeal to more proggers?
You are NOT. That is one of a fucking great ruling song!
I perfure Communion in a ballad solo. IMO
Bjut I just think there are better solo's out ther from SyX (even though that one still kicks ass!!)
The solo on Accolade II is the best solo ever IMO. Never heard a better one, except for maybe Vivian Campbell on Rainbow in the Dark.
The tapping bit in Sea of Lies. Just floored me when I first heard it. Pretty much any solo he does floors me, but in particular the majority of his playing on TiO.
My fave solo/s are on my fave SymX song Candlelight Fantasia.
The classical stuff before the relic solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!just insane!
dawn of a million souls is great,of sins and shadows and dressed to kill are great and i really like some of the solo's on there first cd, i hope romeo smokes on those when they redo the cd
I forgot to mention Through the Looking Glass Part III. Beautiful.
My fav. guitar solo from Romeo is from:
Pinnella really brought it all together on this last album; his tone and phrasing are much better than in previous albums. Pinnela's solos on "Inferno", "Wicked", "The Turning", and "The Odyssey" (during pt. 2 around 8:00) are absolutely amazing, in fact I've found myself fast-forwarding through Romeo solos to get to Pinnella solos lately.
In addition to the solos I listed above, I also appreciate Romeo's work on "Out of the Ashes", "King of Terrors", and "Inferno" (the tapping one and the one in-between the verses). I also like the duel on "Smoke and Mirrors".
SymX has many many brilliant solo's..but the one of theirs that makes me want to jizz all over the place (in a womanly sense) at the moment is the guitar riffs at the end of DWOT..just before the last two verses.. oh man..that does it for me. i dunno what it is..but oh hell yeah. lol!
Damn, I've heard of self-lubricating inducing sounds, but DAMN!!! :hotjump: Sometimes I regret being a drummer.. LOL!
