Super interesting sound, nice find!
Was lucky enough to be at the release show and get one of the 50 originals. Probably their weakest release though. Much prefer the follow-up.
anybody familiar with the Black Twilight Circle and if anything related to it being worth its grit?
Arizmenda and Volahn imo are the two strongest bands and Axeman released my favourite recording of the lot but they only released two demo tapes.
Yeah, a lot of their releases are surprisingly good.
Arizmenda - everything, the best band in their 'circle'
Odz Manouk - s/t
Volahn - Dimensiones del Trance Kosmico
Also check out their predecessor, Rhinocervs nameless releases, by most account .
This is fucking crusty as fuck! I kind of wish they would ease up on the crash though. Wish this could get a proper production treatment.
That demo sounds amazing played through a decent sound system actually, it is a little hard on the ears if you can't alter the balance of the audio.
yea i'm using some crappy headphones atm. the audio leans kind of right. Maybe i can just throw it into ableton and create my own master. I've been running some LP's through my SP 404 to get some bitcrush on em. Shit slays!
Yeah man it's really fucking handy to be able to do stuff like that.
Fuck listening to the Axeman demo tapes on headphones though, holy shit that would be ear annihilation.
haha going for that blistering tinnitus level of no-fi immersion
Dude, I'm so weary of fucking my hearing up after being on this forum and hearing all the horror stories.
I know so many old heads who've destroyed their hearing over the years. I try to be conservative with headphone use, but it's hard when I have to pretty much live in the library these days.
If it makes you feel any better, mine is equal parts loud music and working in a machine shop for 2 years and its pretty tolerable for the most part. occasionally get a spike.
I've never been much of a headphones guy and loud concerts are a rarity here in Perth so by pure random luck my hearing is still quite perfect.
But every now and then I get ear pops or a sharp ear pain in one ear and I freak out.
Let's not get into a political debate here--but holy fucking shit, Zeal and Ardor kicks ass:
Mine is not sound/noise related, so there's that.
This is really cool and doesn't overstay it's welcome, but I don't think it's black metal.
I agree, something else is happening when you attend to the whole sound. There's a layer of black metal, but it's not the driving aesthetic.
