Randomly checked out this 2019 album last night before bed and I quite enjoyed it. Has anybody else heard it yet? Very second-wave but at least to me it doesn't feel redundant or lazy.

Ugh, I'll have to add it to the list. That being said, I may request a one week extension on the 2019 rankings.

At this point I'm just going to let the game run on, what with everything that's going on there's no rush and it would be bizarre to expect people to even care about the game at a time like this. So consider the game open-ended right now.

Think that's bad? Should have seen it before they added the black and white filter.

New Malokarpatan. Seems rather down on energy but will reserve further comment until I've listened to it more

I like it the most of all their stuff. Total Master's Hammer cult sound.

Great stuff! Reminds me of a BM version of the Game of Thrones theme at times.

it rocks, bro. As you said, it's a little stripped of energy, but it has a lot of weird, otherworldly and majestic elements that haven't been incorporated into their music before

Tardy to the party on this, but Obsequiae's newest is fucking killer. Finally listened to it a couple weeks ago, and haven't stopped. I'd also forgotten how fucking good Aria of Vernal Tombs is.

Cant really agree there. I like Obsequiae but feel like their last two albums have been rehashes of Suspended in the Brume of Eos, but not as good.

Ha, I feel like they've gotten better since Suspended, but it's been a long time since I listened to it.

For that medieval black metal sound, make sure you check out Par Le Sang Versé by Véheménce.

I'll check them out! Summer's here, so I'm looking for new hiking music.

Also psyched that a bunch of Mesarthim's stuff is now up on Spotify.
