In all seriousness, I can't believe someone is trying to sell the most overused kick sample ever made, and pass it off as his own sample.

Anyone remember what that kids drum sample "company" name was?

I haven't had the time yet to check if it's really the same kick, so so far he only received a 2 week temp ban for repeatedly spamming in the wrong forum.
His company name (maxfatsamples) will be forwarded to slate though, as soon as he confirms that it's his sample(s) the permaban will follow.

Wow... If that is really the case, that guy should definitely be banned. Trying to make money by selling someone elses hard work as their own is fucking disgusting.

yes, but let's not jump to conclusions....a least I can't, since I haven't even checked it out yet.
so this was just for repeatedly spmming the wrong subforum (at least so far)

I saw that thread the other night and that you said it sounded like kick 10. Tried to find it this morning to see the guys response and the thread was gone :(
Isn't the Chango stuff Slate and DKFH samples? Guy prolly made a small fortune off that.

I bought from Chango studios, won't make that mistake again, horribly organized and missing samples, still don't think I got all the samples even after mailing them..

I kinda doubt that Chango sell Slate and DKFH samples, they are similar to J Sturgis - started by using Slate samples and than made their own.

I've heard multiple people that know Cameron personally that claim it is Slate mix with his own samples.

I think even Steven Slate has publicly commented about it.

Yup, here is what he said about it on the "Massive Snare"-thread  :

"If someone is taking my samples and then mixing it in with their own crappy drum hits, and then selling them...... then I feel too sorry for them to take action. Because that's ridiculously stupid.

It's like, rather than buy that nice shirt, I'm going to buy the same shirt that someone sewed into their own crappy turtleneck.

    Cheers,
    Steven"

Not to stir the pot, aren't you buying the samples for your own, commercial, royalty free use?

Using the sample in your own music for sale is, technically, the same as simply blending it with another kick sample and selling it. It's not in the spirit of how the samples should be used, but I can't see any legal reason to stop it (hey guys, check out my new song, it's simple a kick hit - it's art, you can't judge).

I think this type of thing is covered in most EULA's. Basically saying that you can use them in your productions but they are not to be resold and/or redistributed.

Well considering Slate's comments on this type of subject before, I'd venture to guess that he'd frown on this.

I know several EULA's that have that basic verbage and redistributing any of the sounds is not allowed. It's been a while since I read the Slate EULA (years), but I'd venture to guess his license agreement is the same. I'd very surprised if he'd allow something like that.
