Mar 7th - The Masquerade [Heaven room] with Nights Watch and other locals
Mar 15th - Sweetwater Bar & Grill - Duluth, GA with Halcyon Way and Inviolate (do not miss this people!)
Apr 26th - SOHO's in Columbus, GA!!! :kickass:

more to come, including a possible Battle of the Bands in Gainesville, GA later in March.

everyone needs to come see what the buzz is all about. :headbang:

First show with the in-ears? I had no idea -- looked like y'all were comfortable wearing them. I remember you telling me and (Inviolate's) Chris that there were three separate mixes and three transceivers going. When we played the Local they mixed everything well and we got a good mix of instruments + vox in one ear and the click in the other. What did you think, playing with them live for the first time?

BTW, y'all's 5-part vocal harmonies rocked :) It's a tough thing, to play, sing well, AND listen to each other to keep the harmonies in line. Lots of respect for that!

Looks like y'all got some serious work done during your two month "hiatus". The new intro with y'all getting in position (Zane & Jon on ego / light boxes, Kris in front of the drum riser, etc.) with the smoke & everything looked really good. Y'all had some awesome 3-part vocal harmonies going on, too. Well done sirs, well done. :)

Although the whole "knock on the door on a rainy night wearing nil but a trench coat and birthday suit" visual came to mind a few times when the smoke cleared out..... :p

ok... whew... I think I've finally caught my breath from the weekend. And wow! what a weekend it was! :D

Let me first start off by saying Thank You to everyone who was able to make it to The Local in Marietta, GA to support this show. We could not have done it without you.

And thanks especially to anyone and everyone who arrived early enough - intentionally or not - and gave Eclipsed by Sanity a chance to impress you. Listening to everyone after their set, and also looking at the feedback here and through a few emails I've received, they made a lasting impression on you. And that is all they wanted to accomplish this weekend.

Thanks to everyone who welcomed Odin's Court to the stage, who gave every bit of energy they had remaining after their trip (and appr. 2 hours sleep over a more than 24 hour period - they are not kidding folks!). These guys brought it and delivered it! And from the feedback here so far, everyone enjoyed it. Please be sure to visit their forums right here on Ultimate Metal and show your appreciation there as well.

Thanks to all of Halcyon Way's regulars and those who became fans last Saturday night. If it was your first time seeing them, you have witnessed the Second Coming of Halcyon Way. 2008 will surely be the turning point for this band as they strive to bring you fantastic, dynamic, powerful metal along with a stage show you will not soon forget.

And a special thanks to everyone - especially those driving from another state - for showing the love and support for Circle II Circle. These guys already had a great reputation coming into the show among this community, and I believe they made some new fans by way of the younger [EbS] crowd.

And for the uninitiated, you saw what I have been building toward for the past 12 months. You should now know what the signature means.

But I could not have done it without my crew: my wife Karen, taking tickets and money at the door (along with the help from her sister Lisa); Keith (DragonKlaw) for helping me with load-in and load-out, and also being my security for the evening; and of course, all the way from Birmingham, AL we had stage manager Billy (A Lower Deep) and his assistant John. This show would have been a disaster without their support. Thanks to all of you.

I owe Glenn Harveston much gratitude for showing me the way. Your advice and direction has been a Godsend. Thanks for sending me Circle II Circle to headline an already stellar show. And thanks also for giving us a sneak peek at the new Evergrey and the new JOP.

btw folks, all three songs are bad ass!!! If you missed it, you really missed it! LOL.

And thanks to Circle II Circle - you guys were the coolest people to work with! I am so glad I finally got to meet you in person. Zak and Mitch in particular were so gracious and thankful for being able to come to Atlanta and play for everyone. So please be sure to thank them - instead of complaining about which favorite song they refuse to play :Smug: :p Personally I loved their set and thoroughly enjoyed the AC/DC tribute songs at the end. That was a killer bonus in my book!

so... all that being said... when do you all want to do it again? :heh: Because I now know what Glenn gets out of ProgPower USA when he sees so many smiling faces wandering around the venue. It's a great feeling to be able to make so many metal fans happy. :) I think I'm hooked.

    Um, ASAP?

My friend and I left a little late so we missed EbS but it looks like they'll be playing near me soon enough so I'll catch them then. I've been wanting to see them for a while but things just weren't working out in our favor. Saw about half of Odin's Court's set and they were definitely talented. Halcyon Way was pretty good too. We left about halfway through the CIIC set but they definitely tore the place down.

This was my first Pathfinder show and I had a great time. I came up from Augusta with my girlfriend and friend and we all enjoyed ourselves. We got there a little late and missed EbS and half of Odin's Court. What we did see of OC was enjoyable. I hope to see them back soon. I've seen Halcyon Way quite a few times and enjoyed them nonetheless. Circle II Circle were the main course for me and they delivered. I liked their set better than their Pre-show performance in 2006. The new songs blew my mind and the addition of "He Carves His Stone" made the 2 hour drive worth it. The venue is nice and the beer prices are decent. I like how this was booked on a weekend as it makes coming from out of town easier. The premiere of the JoP and Evergrey songs was a nice touch. I'm even more psyched to see Mr. Oliva in September. Thanks to everyone for putting this show on. This is not the last Pathfinder Promotions will see of me.

I agree on this being a better CIIC performance than their pre-show performance. This reminded me more of the first time they appeared at ProgPower. I do wish the set had focused more on the debut/MoN (versus so heavy on BoT). I don't know why they don't play songs "Watching in Silence" or "Out of Reach" anymore. :( While I like Burden of Truth, I think is the weakest of the three in terms of live material. The new songs though definitely sounded more like MoN mixed with BoT (awesome!). Regardless, I loved it!

Great performance by them. Killer energy and they appeared to be having a great time

 I'm kinda surprised that movie ref didn't strike me until just now, as re HW's eeevil stage attire. :)

    Prepare for the tuning!!

Oh, absolutely true. I was watching my vid from the show and it's really fun to watch him play. Of course, that describes pretty much everyone else on that stage all night, too. :)

I think that was kinda the point of my post. I really enjoy it when younger bands can come up and kick all sorts of ass -- anyone who knows me and my long-ago association with the young (but signed) band Mutha's Day Out would definitely agree.
It kinda gives me a bit more hope for the musical/metal future of Mankind.
    Or something.
Nevermind, I'm getting needlessly profound. :)

Awesome! I've gotten that same heady feeling a few times myself. :kickass:

Let's do it again in a month or two. :headbang:

    WOW, what a night!

ECLIPSED BY SANITY really set the tone for the evening with their high-energy set, opening the show with my personal favorite, “TO THE KING”! They wasted no time wind-milling their way through as many fist-pumping anthems from their repertoire as time would allow. I’ve had the opportunity to see ECLIPSED BY SANITY on many occasions, and they NEVER disappoint! (however, I would like to set the record straight: contrary to rumor, my name is NOT “Scooter”, “Scootie Pie”, or any variation thereof, regardless of what SOME people might say ...but thanks for the "shout out", you guys RULE :headbang:).

Next up, the long-awaited Atlanta debut of ODIN’S COURT! As stated in the beginning of this thread, I was already pretty excited that these guys were making the trip down to play for us; however, the samples I’ve heard online, as good as they are, simply do not do them justice…these guys absolutely SMOKED! I shudder to think how good they must be when they’ve actually had some sleep! I would definitely welcome any opportunity to see them again (perhaps with Canvas Solaris also on the bill???...paging Hoyt)!

Next up, the long-awaited return of HALCYON WAY! After a three-month hiatus, the guys definitely seemed re-energized as they hit the stage and plowed through a collection of their most aggressive, progressive, and devastating ditties; unfortunately, I was so stoked to see them after some 98 days of withdrawal that my enthusiasm may have rendered the video footage useless (hey "E"...PM me and let me know how it turned out ).

Last, but not least, CIRCLE II CIRCLE! These guys are amazing every time I see them. Considering BURDEN OF TRUTH is my favorite disc from their catalogue, I wouldn’t care if they played it from start-to-finish TWICE! The new songs sounded killer, so I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next disc. Great selection of Savatage songs, and the AC/DC tunes at the end were a nice bonus…here’s hoping for a Hells/Bells show in the near future (paging Hoyt)!

It was great to hang out with all the board members in attendance, and I’m glad that SavaNanny, Bad Girl Tess, and Tess’s Sister were able to make the trip down…we had a BLAST, as always!!!

Thanks to Hoyt and Glenn for putting together another outstanding evening of metal; your efforts are GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!! :kickass:

(and thanks to Hoyt and Karen for putting together the coolest cake I've ever seen!)

Wow, that sounds just fantastic. Along with all the other reviews, I feel even more regretful that I couldn't pull the trip off. Glad everyone had such a kickass time, though. I'll be sure to keep my eye on all the bands who were there for any appearances up this way. Seems like eveyone truly delivered.

My mommy said if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all :lol::lol:

Personally it's cool to see a band doing up the visual elements of a show, we've lost alot of that with the customary dress down, jeans and a tee, good to go alittle over the top and give people something to see as well as hear.

Well, finally some time to give my .02 for what it's worth

FIRST of all, a great big hug and thanks to Hoyt for the hospitality. You made this trip possible with the special accomodations and I am so thankful. I was really worried about making through the whole event, but it could not have been more comfortable and perfect.
    Now on to the show!
Wow, it's not too often you go to a show to see a headliner and are equally blown away by support acts. Sure, even the biggest names start out in the opening slot at some point in their careers, but this night was so special.
From the very first note to the last, EBS was a treat. You guys have so much talent and SO MUCH potential. I look forward to following your progress as you move up the food chain! Patrick, I had no idea you had those pipes!! :headbang: I hope your guitar player is doing better :) I can't believe you had to do facehuggers though, c'mon man!! Pay attention

Odin's Court - wow. I was only slightly familiar with your music, but thoroughly enjoyed that show. Seemed to go by so quickly though...left me wanting more! And the sax was HOT!!! :kickass: It was great to see you "again" Rick...my POS buddy!!!

Halcyon's Way - As usual and expected, you guys rocked out. VERY high energy & entertaining show. LOVED the outfits, but boy did you all look HOT! Such a fun set :) just what this old lady expected from you guys though.

Glenn - nice touch with the world premieres between sets! :kickass:

And CIIC OMG, felt like I was at a 90's Sava show. Great set, especially the Sava tunes. Zak is the man. :worship: After the show, I found out Zak was sick. Unbelievable. What a pro. I had no idea from that performance.
And last but NOT least -
Kathy and James: You guys are such good friends. Thanks for being the Bishop limo service for the weekend. Thanks for the thermos of margarita's and the cooler of beer at the hotel. We had so much fun and so many laughs hanging with you guys. And I will NEVER look at a snack vending machine quite the same way again thanks to James and Annie!

Just a couple notable quotes from the weekend:
Kathy: to the front desk clerk at the hotel at 3:30 AM "are there any pizza places that deliver here tonight? No? Then can you open up the breakfast early for us? We're really hungry!"
Next scene Kathy wanders into the breakfast area in the hotel lobby looking for food.
James AKA Scooter: " Awe SHIT! Kathy's wandered off again and I don't have anymore laminates! What the hell am I gonna do now?"

Kathy: on James' lap in the backseat of the cab - "This ride reminds me of NYC."
    Tess: "Why?"
Kathy: Cause the cab drivers there drive like maniacs."

Next scene - the cab takes the left turn on 2 wheels going about 50 MPH.

Kathy: "Wow -this is like a roller coaster ride" - To the cab driver - "wow, you smell really good, what are you wearing? Cabbie in a very thick accent - "Polo". Kathy: "Wow, you're gonna get sex tonight smelling like that buddy!"

What a beautiful cake Karen!! That was amazing.
Doug - as usual, it was awesome seeing you and your lovely wife again.

Such a fun weekend. Well worth the trip.
    What's up next Hoyt?
    Sorry for the epic post...

We were very grateful to have the opportunity to perform for all the people that were there, especially those like you that traveled such a distance to see us. It is truly amazing and it leaves me with chills to know that we had such a positive impact on the crowd, and with any support this won't be the last time we'll have the chance to open up for a big band and put on a show people will remember for a time to come. As I stated before, Im currently doing everything I can to prove to the owner of the Masquerade that we have what it takes to open up for the Symphony X/Epica/Into Eternity show in May.

Thank you so much for being there early enough to see us, and hopefully we can make a trip to play out your way sometime. :headbang:

This show and the positive feedback we have received has been a big boost for the band and now we know its time to take that next step. 2008 is the full-force/full speed ahead year for Eclipsed By Sanity. :kickass:

I'd be an ass if I didn't give any credit to Halcyon Way though. They've been supporting us from that first show we played with them and they've continued to support us. Its great to have their support and we thank them for all the advice they have given to us over the past year and a half. So Halcyon Way, as weird as your stage antics may be, you'll always be like the older brother that we expect to break out of the closet any day now. (I mean ya know, break out into the music scene...yeah...thats what I meant)

if there are any ladies with big boobs in the venue Sean can ogle them without being too obvious. Plus it keeps the fruit pie filling out of his eyes.

Yes, we were hot. Believe it or not, though - not as hot as the leather was. Glad everyone dug it. We basically wanted to take the look & feel of the album cover and translate it into the live show a little better. We were thinking Equilibrium, Dark City, Matrix....and Starman(?) =)

I always like to see bands that put on a great stage show, and the one that really slammed it home for me was Evergrey at PPV (I think it was V) where they came out doing windmills in head to toe leather and they just really stood out head and shoulders above the rest of the bill in terms of stage presence.

So, for the record....you come see us, you get metal & show. And a fruit pie, if Sean will share.

And Patrick....dude, YOU'RE the one with the emo cut! Talking about the closet....sheesh.....hahahaha

Do you have ANYTHING else to make fun of me about? I feel like you're on your last leg here and you can't find anything else that could possibly serve as a good defense.

So Im guilty of a somewhat scene haircut for the time being, I could think of so many things that could be worse. Haha, a lot of people actually liked my hair, and its only really an emo haircut if you play emo/scene/screamo music right? Plus...its all I can do until it gets longer. :erk:

Anyhow, a lot of good things came out of this show for all the bands I believe. I can't wait to do it again sometime in the next several months.
