I saw the Southern Flag and immediately got pissed off. then listened to them and they sound like an awful late 90's post grunge band.
I don't really get the southern flag thing, I know it means a lot of different things to different people, but didn't really think it had any cultural relevance outside the US. Relevance for a Serbian band, fuck knows? Maybe they just want to look like Pantera. And they do look and sound like 90s post-grunge, but they are far from awful.
No. Because it's a symbol of a political movement and not a religious icon. If it was a cross that pissed me off than I would be a bigot. Since it is a flag I am a cultural elitist.
Bigotry is the intolerance of any defining characteristics, not just religion. Fez man is correct. The fact you wrote them off because you saw a flag is no different to writing them off because they are black, gay or christians. That said, they sound like a shitty Alice in Chain cover band.
While I can see it on the surface, given any critical listening, I don't really see the AIC comparison.
