Anyone heard the Guitar Hero mix of Death Magnetic?

On Full Metal Racket last night, they played comparison's of the exact same parts of the songs with the album mix, and the Guitar Hero mix, and the latter actually sounds "normal".

Apparently Metallica weren't present during the mixing of the album, thus unable to voice their opinions, and i know there was a thread on here about the "Loudness War" where the levels are all put to maximum, and that's what has happened on Death Magnetic, resulting in clipping of the high and low frequencies, thus making EVERYTHING battle to be heard in mid range, which i think could also damage your speakers.

My main gripe with the album is that the songs were good, but the album sounded like complete shit.

EDIT: Noticed that i wasn't in Off Topic after i made this. little help mod?

I can understand all the outrage, but i personally don't have much of a gripe with the CD mix.

The GH mix is definitely an improvement, that's for sure. The original one is smashed to shit.

I'd be amazed if Metallica had no input into the mixing process after the last album, or considering their experience. That seems almost retarded. I think they are just old, and James wanted to avoid one of his "hissy fights" with Lars; who probably thought his drums sounded sick; while Rob didn't want to get fired while Hammett wanted to make love not war.
