The original Opeth, backstage after the show on the 18th:
Before the show on the 17th (pics taken with shitty phone camera, since I had no idea I was gonna get to meet the band):
what was peter doing there? awesome.
I guess he was there to meet the guys and see the show?
I was standing like 2 meters from him during the show... It was so awsome!
He was gonna watch Opeth for the first time in his life. I met him at the soundcheck before the gig. Got to talk with him a bit before we were asked to leave so they could finish preparing the show. Very friendly and nice guy.
Both the band and the audience seemed more energetic on the second night.
Hehe, it was a bit embarassing though. I didn't realize it was David Isberg until he asked me to take the photo of "the original Opeth lineup". Doh
I spoke to him a bit after the show. He said it was weird standing on the "wrong" side of the stage, and that they played well although he noticed that the band was sick. Very nice guy
I think 18th was great, but mikes voice was not really at its best - easily heard on Bleak. Did he really play the intro from "I remember you" by Skid row in one of the last pauses?
Since I've started putting stuff up on youtube, I thought I'd upload this to those of you that are interested in seeing a snippet from their soundcheck before the Stockholm concert on the 17th.
Warning: It was recorded using a crappy phone camera, (If I knew I'd get to meet the band and see the soundcheck I would have brought a proper camera), so the sound and picture quality are quite bad, but it may still be interesting to some.
wtf! that guy is david isberg... nice to see him again
Indeed it is. Nice fellow.
Yeah, David's a cool chap.
I felt quite stupid though since I sat backstage chatting with him and Skinny from Deathstars and it wasn't until he asked me to take a photo of "the original Opeth" that I realized that it was THAT David.
heh... that's funny.
i think david stood next to me on the close up gig, didn't notice until after the gig
