EUGG just launched it's third mixing competition. This time the song is a cover of Inis Mona by Eluveitie performed by the band Tagarot, which consists of 83 tracks containing several real folk instruments.

I'm particularly excited about this one since Fabian Rauter, who went on to become a customer support agent at EverTune later on, borrowed my ESP LTD KS-7 back in early summer last year when he recorded the guitar tracks for this cover, which is pretty cool. Needless to say I'm definitely having a go at this one. Hope you guys enjoy it!

    Best regards,
    Herbert

For now I've come up with this, but I think I'll check it again later, I'm not totally satisfied with the sound of the mandolin and the chorus sounds a little muddy because of the backing vocals...

EDIT: Finally I've modified what I wanted to change, plus a few other things, I will probably post it on soundcloud soon

Here's my attempt. Good chance for me to try out some new mixing concepts. Pretty fun song to mix!

boxy, lacks treble. Guitar and flute solo get lost, could be louder / more present. Potential is there though :)
What´s that guitar thingy playing in the chorus? Re-amped DI, or did you record yourself?

    Welcome onboard! :headbang:

    Here I am.

    1. Guitars are full IGNITE amps. IMHO if you need "one" amazing guitar and bass tone you just don't need to spend your money on commercial amsims. Emissary nad SHB (with a help from their TScreamers, poweramp and IRloader) are just enough.

    2. Alot of EQs and compressors are on those tracks so I'll just name few: TDR SlickEQ, Nova, Kotelnikov; Variety of Sounds Ferric (LOVE this one!), nastyDLA, epicVerb, Thrillseekers, Density, Baxter, Vlad'sG Molot (absolute BEAST!), Limiter No6, alot of GVSTs.

So, let the hatestorm begin, I'm waiting for comments, criticisms and questions :)
    Cheers!
    Gaclav
