Hmm, yeah, a lot o f people love songs for the withering but they say futile is the best one...i didn't listen to it yet, gonna check it out and see if i dig it.
Songs for the Withering shows the band moving into a catchier direction. It still has the Brave Murder Day style (and done really well too), but unfortunately gets too catchy. Futile however, is a fantastic album. Dark, depressive Doom-Death.
"This thread is Finnished." lol.... i dont know no but you SHOULD check out mokoma and stamina... NFU: you never argue the part that music is subjective... still you keep compeating with music.
I dunno... my teachers make a point to argue with me whenever I say one thing that slightly disagrees with them. Arseholes. By the way, Lordi was sounding pretty good at EuroVision
No Demilich mentions or am I just not paying attention? But yeah, them. Some of the other early Finnish death metal bands are quite excellent as well - such as Demigod, Abhorrence and Adramelech. Ah, and Funebre if you've ever heard of them. They had a really excellent debut album. Shame they never followed it up. I suppose some of the more modern finnish bands like Finntroll and Machine Men are decent and I actually like both of the Ensiferum full-lengths quite a bit. Problem is that most of these Finnish bands just tend to range between unmemorable like with Turisas and Moonsorrow (they should do another Lakupaavi album btw) and just plain garbage like Battlelore and Diablo.
