no matter what you say I think that the solo(s) in Metallica's "One" (and the whole song being my fav metal song) are my fav... I first heard this track when I was like 12 and my older bro was into them, blew me away... the lost touch with metal from ages 19-26... now back into it, but still love this track :OMG::kickass::headbang:

I care little for guitar solos. If I had to pick a favourite, it'd be something by Meshuggah, yet I'm not really a big fan of them.

Crystal Mountain has a kickass solo, the one about at two minutes. All of the solos from Holy Wars as well kick ass, not sure about my favorite, but it'd probably be one of those.

Since I am pretty big on the guitar solo I have a longer list than what I'll post, but here are a few

    Jag Panzer - Shadow Thief
    Crimson Glory - Eternal World
Death - Vacant Planets, Crystal Mountain.
    Origin - The Aftermath
    Agent Steel - Avenger
Belphegor - Justine, Soaked in Blood
    Nevermore - Seed Awakening
Judas Priest - Painkiller, All Guns Blazing, One Shot at Glory.

    lots lots more.

    Necrophagist - Fermented Offal Discharge
Testament - Practice What You Preach
    Black Sabbath - Neon Knights
    Exodus - Deathamphetamine
    Candlemass - Bewitched
Anaal Nathrakh - Do Not Speak

I could never pick just one, that would be blasphemy.

If I wanted to pst the best solos I've heard, there'd be a gazillion of them, but if I would pick the most beautiful solo ever, the opening solo on Metallica's Fade To Black.

Nile - Unas, Slayer Of The Gods and for only one damn part.

It goes shred shred shred and then it slows down and a few notes are played, that part gives me the chills.
