my Orange Rockerverb 50 gain channel kicks butt for lead playing at any volume
Yup.. the ADA is epic for leads.
While not completely different, Road Kings are quite different from Single/Dual/Triple Rectos.
He definitely has used rectos before.
Peavey Windsor, Orange Tiny Terror, Marshall DSL.
Fuck forgot about the DSL Marshall range.
+1 to that. Both a great rhythm and lead tone
^ Yeah, really liking the 5150 III for leads. Really similar to the 5150 but just seems slightly smoother.
I still like 5150s plenty for leads too... just needs a little more mids and a dark delay/verb to smooth it out a little
JSX, CAA OD100.
Yeah, it's just not quite smooth enough for leads.
Yes, he's used them live and in the studio. However, whenever he used them, he had a Mark (IIC+ or IV) or Road King right beside it for leads.
They aren't much good for anything else, but I've gotten some good lead tones out of an ENGL Powerball before.
Also +1 to vintage mode soloing on a recto.
I am really stoked on my Cobra for leads. I loved the leads on my Engl Powerball too....
I will also say +1 for vintage on Recto...but I could never get the volumes right across the board for channel switching live.
Ever hear any Marcus lead tone?
Haha, thanks dude, though actually pretty much all my lead tones have been ampsims and impulses! (your favorite )
Always found my cobra thin on leads
I spoke about recto time before you sold it
And by "I" he means me.
Custom Audio OD100SE+ hands down
