    While not completely different, Road Kings are quite different from Single/Dual/Triple Rectos.

    ^ Yeah, really liking the 5150 III for leads. Really similar to the 5150 but just seems slightly smoother.

    I still like 5150s plenty for leads too... just needs a little more mids and a dark delay/verb to smooth it out a little

    Yeah, it's just not quite smooth enough for leads.

    Yes, he's used them live and in the studio. However, whenever he used them, he had a Mark (IIC+ or IV) or Road King right beside it for leads.

    They aren't much good for anything else, but I've gotten some good lead tones out of an ENGL Powerball before.

    Also +1 to vintage mode soloing on a recto.

    I am really stoked on my Cobra for leads. I loved the leads on my Engl Powerball too....

    I will also say +1 for vintage on Recto...but I could never get the volumes right across the board for channel switching live.
