Yeah it's nowhere near that shit but at any rate, let me know what you think. I busted out my own cover of Nerve tonight just to have something to go by when I A/B his to mine. It's Addictive Drums 2. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/994726/Nerve Cover master.wav
The core guitar tone sounds really good but your mix is terrible. It's too lofi and muddy...you need to get more high end on everything. I can also hear unwanted artefacts somewhere. It's not a disaster and i am sure you can remedy it but go back to basics and start low cutting everything with an EQ and get a decent drum sound before you bring everything up.
Ok gotcha. I recorded and mixed it a few hours so it's no wonder it's terrible. I actually matched the guitar up to the album with eq so that might be why it's faring better in your opinion. I really gotta ditch AD2! I can't get a decent sound out of it to save my life!
It wasn't the EQ on the guitar that piqued my interest but the core tone. Have a listen to my EP in my signature and if you are interested in the sounds there I'll be happy to give some tips. I know it's chalk and cheese in musical style but the principles are the same.
