hey everyone, finally some of the music recorded at my studio is starting to see the light of day: here is a link to Humanoid, a side project of Mathieu Marcotte (guitarist from Augury) the drums were recorded here at 40 West about half a year ago...
Check out song #2 (first one is just acoustic) and also support Mathieu, he's a great guitarist and deserves your support!

    HUMANOID: AUGURY guitarist’s solo project

Panoptic Records, a new division of the Disconcert Music Company, is proud to announce that the release of Humanoid’s debut album, "Remembering Universe", is scheduled for February 12th 2008 in stores.

The album is available for purchase now on Humanoid’s myspace, along with two new songs, at this location.

Humanoid, AUGURY guitarist Mathieu Marcotte’s instrumental solo project, is an acoustic-space-metal concept with varied influences such as CYNIC, PINK FLOYD as well as OPETH and features guest appearances by Forest (AUGURY, QUO VADIS, ATHERETIC) on fretless bass, ChaotH (UNEXPECT) on bass and Tommy Mckinnon (NEURAXIS) on drums and percussions.

The cover artwork is an original painting from Martin Lacroix (VENGEFUL, SPASME) and inner illustrations are from Michel "Away" Langevin (VOIVOD).

Just got this in the mail and it sounds amazing. I don't usually go for solo guitar albums, but I am loving this. :headbang:

Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based black/death metallers NECRONOMICON have issued the following update:

"We are happy to anounce the extras on [the third NECRONOMICON album] 'Return of the Witch' have been recorded. Extras featured include Arianne Fleury (ex-AUGURY) and Roxanne Constantin (NEGATIVA, QUO VADIS) and others.

"Rob the Witch's (guitars, vocals) recovery from a throat injury is going well. A minor infection is still on and off but everything should be good for the April 3 show at the Metropolis in Montreal [with DIMMU BORGIR and BEHEMOTH].

"Some tests will be done this weekend while Rob will be recording his vocal tracks on the album. If everything is good, the band should be ready to mix really soon.

"Scheduled for first week of April, the entire crew and, of course, the producer, as well as the band, will meet on the set for the video clip of 'The Time is Now' [which was premiered during the band's last tour with BEHEMOTH] to talk about the last details before setting the official date of shooting."

NECRONOMICON previously stated that the follow-up to 2003's "The Sacred Medicines" would "probably be the fastest and most brutal" CD the band has released thus far.

Other songtitles set to appear on the album include "Into the Fire", "Alpha Omega", "The Awakening", and "Return of the Witch".
