i'm intrigued to see who wins the battle of the greeks. i'm sure necromantia won't but it could be close between the other two.

Necromantia are probably my favourite of the 3, but yeah, this year doesn’t have their best release for me! So Rotting Christ wins it.

Pure Holocaust is the best black metal release of this year for me, though. It’s not doing so well so far unfortunately. Guess you’d go with UaFM?

this was such an important/defining year for technical death metal(Gorguts, Atheist, Pestilence, Suffocation, Death, Demilich, Electrocution, Cynic etc). Just a great fucking year all around.

That fact that you associate Depth of Knowledge 1 skills (memorization) with IQ shows you don't understand what the test assesses.

Yeah, don't mess with this man's intellect. He listens to Velvet Cacoon, after all.

    1. Eucharist - A Velvet Creation
    2. Sentenced - North From Here
    3. Necrophobic - The Nocturnal Silence
    4. Varathron - His Majesty at the Swamp
    5. Rotting Christ - Thy Mighty Contract
    6. Beherit - Drawing Down the Moon
    7. Dissection - The Somberlain
    8. Demilich - Nespithe
    9. At the Gates - With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness
    10. Mystifier - Göetia

    HMs:
Burzum - Det som engang Var
    Coven - Boneless Christian
    God Macabre - The Winterlong
Unanimated - In the Forest of the Dreaming Dead
Darkthrone - Under a Funeral Moon
    Immortal - Pure Holocaust
Marduk - Those of the Unlight
Katatonia - Jhva Elohim Meth... The Revival

Eucharist sits a top the rest comfortably. Probably my third favorite Swedish metal album in general. The rest is all really fantastic.

At the Gates would have been a lock for #1 if the album were consistently as flawless as the first three tracks. As is, fantastic album anyways.

Varathron and Rotting Christ could go either way, but I find myself listening to Varathron more often so I gave them the edge.

Beherit is great, fuck anyone who says otherwise. Especially when those same people worship garbage like Deathspell Omega.

The fact that you took my insult literally shows that you don't understand trolling. Not that this is a surprise.
