    RYM album chart
    RYM EP chart

please submit your lists by 11pm UTC on NOVEMBER 3rd.

sorry, no 1990 yet! all praise the RNG master our lord and savior in these dark times.

i'll try to actually stick to the deadline this time lol.

    (reminder of the rules:
    - please submit at least 5 releases.
    - first place in your rankings gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9, etcetc, 10th gets 1.
    - feel free to post more than 10, but only the top 10 will get points.
    - feel free to post less than 10, the same scoring will apply.
    - feel free not to rank your picks, in which case all ten picks will get 5.5 points.
    - if you're so much of a dick that you have to post more than 10 unranked picks, i'll work out the mathS. basically there's no way you can sabotage this so fuck you!)

you just post a top 10 and they're all counted up at the deadline. i've added the rules into the original post.

and yeah i get why some folks may want me to disqualify people who aren't regulars, but i don't want to discourage genuine new users from participating due to paranoia about alts either. if anyone has an idea about making a rule about this i'm all ears. i did DQ that one new user who was behaving like a bot in one of the early threads lol

    ... who was that?

I say you either do what Crim did and add a minimum post requirement, or just include people that are genuinely part of the community here since you know, this is a community poll/thread after all no? But hey it's your thread so do what you want.

This should be interesting. I already know that Kamelot, Opeth, Nile and Galneryus are a lock for me this year but I'll definitely have to listen to some stuff again.

Quite a few bands released some of their best albums this year. Gorod, Bolt Thrower, Nile, Deceased, StarGazer, etc

I definitely have some re-listening to do for this one. Top 5 is basically locked in, though.

Not to mention Manilla Road, amirite? ;)

Wait, The Scream That Tore the Sky was a 2005 release? Well, that just makes this more difficult for me.

I listened to Gates of Fire again about a week ago and there's honestly a good chance that it won't get in my list. It's not bad by any means but there was just a lot of much cooler stuff that came out in 2005.

That Hexen album is basically a State of Insurgency demo, still gonna make my list though. And i love Gama Bomb, but that album is not good.

I think I was the one who originally recommended it since you asked me what genre they were when I posted that album.
