    RYM ALBUMS LIST
    RYM EP LIST

    Reminder of the rules:
    - please submit at least *5* releases. But just remember, real men vote at 10.
    - first place in your rankings gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9, etcetc, 10th gets 1.
    - feel free to post more than 10, but only the top 10 will get points.
    - feel free to post less than 10, the same scoring will apply.
    - feel free not to rank your picks, in which case all ten picks will get 5.5 points.
    - if you're so much of a dick that you have to post more than 10 unranked picks, only the first 10 will count. In other words, go back to the third rule.

Submit your lists by October 6th.

Same pretty much. I remember A Matter of Life and Death coming out right at the peak of my Iron Maiden obsession (they were the first metal band I got into.) Excited to do this year.

1 - Peste Noire - La Sanie des siècles – Panégyrique de la dégénérescence. Grotesque, beautiful, rancid, passionate. It's just an incredible album.

2 - Celtic Frost - Monotheist. One of the most crushing metal albums ever made.

3 - Kampfar - Kvass. Great comeback album, packed with classically inspired folky riffing.

4 - Dissection - Reinkaos. Say what you want about not sounding like the previous albums, this is a melodic masterpiece.

    5 - Antaeus - Blood Libels.

6 - Clandestine Blaze - Church of Atrocity

    7 - Enslaved - Ruun

8 - Solefald - Icelandic Odyssey II: Black for Death

    9 - Amesoeurs - Ruines Humaines

10 - Ahab - The Call of the Wretched Sea

I remember Epitome of Darkness dropping this year and I blasted it nonstop well into 2007. Good times, I also got to see Suffocation live in 2007 in support of their 2006 album. That shit was mindblowing.

WFaD is not the best album of this year. It's the best album of this decade.

i remember liking cabinet back in the day.

the lyrics are the worst thing about warning and i'm not gonna defend them, but idk how anyone can listen to that album and not get lost in the riffs and textures and atmosphere. thing is a fucking ocean, one of the most immersive things i've ever heard in any genre. he could be singing about anything and i'd still love it.
