You still have boners at 70?
sure, but in that case the word 'ballad' becomes useless as a pejorative, since ballads are typically criticised for being sappy and sentimental, which metallica's were not.
Fade to Black is one of the cheesiest and sappiest metal ballads out there (and that doesn't hurt it one bit).
Why does Harvester have so many votes
what the fuc...
dyers eve with 2 votes already, not looking good
Indeed. Lines such as "I have lost the will to live, simply nothing more to give" are cringy and cheesy taken out of context.
On my holiday there was this beachside bar that played dance remixes of all sorts of songs. Fade to Black was one of them. The thumping drums sounded totally out of place.
One has grown on me over the years but it's still too long, was hard to not vote for it.
I was thinking of sitting this first round out but finally decided to go with One, Harvester of Sorrow and To Live Is to Die and not one do I consider a "bad" song. This is going to be difficult going forward.
60, asshole, and yes.
Damn I forgot how good Dyer's Eve was, my CD was scratched on that part and I hadn't heard the song in years and years.
I don't see the huge problem with Shortest Straw. Frayed Ends of Sanity is much weaker imo.
whoa, these vote totals changed a lot since last time i looked
Gee I wonder which song will win.
Shortest Straw feels kinda goofy, Frayed Ends is pretty intense.
"Harvester of Sorrow" my favorite track.. I see a lot of negative comments about this song here , But it is tied for 1st in votes. Interesting..
I'm not sure you understand the format. People are voting for the weakest/least good track, not the best. So they are voting for "Harvester of Sorrow" to be eliminated first.
Oh, disregard my last post then. Still my favorite song on the CD..
I I like the slower more mid-tempo tracks.
I grew up with Black Sabbath so that's more my style I guess..
The intro to Frayed Ends is the goofiest part on the whole album. Then they build the main riff to the song around said goofy part.
Shortest Straw is punchy as hell and contains one of my fave Hammet solos.
