Hello All... me again A friend o'mine have recorded a seven string version of the riff... and wow... ampsims sound really diferent that my 6 strings test. Check it out and the 2 DI guitars and a bass Wav in B if anyone wants to give a shoot to the seven strings test. Use the same drum track or build another... bpm 180 http://www.filesonic.com/file/HRsE1cQ
Thanks for the DI tracks. I had some free time on my hands today, so I gave both versions a shot. This is what I came up with: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8648912/eow reamp 1.wav http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8648912/eow reamp 2.wav Both are run through an EVH 5150iii head and into a custom impulse that I have been working on. I was thinking about mic'ing up a cab for this, but I decided to go the impulse route since this is an amp sim thread. I ended up using a different impulse for the 7 string version to compensate for the lower tuning. There is no post processing on the reamped tracks and just a little slate fgx on the master buss.
I LIKE IT A LOT!!! May i ask you to post the impulse??? sounds Amaizing!!! Both impulses please!!! And fell freee to mic a cab too, it colud be great to compare both chains Thanks for participate!
Sup guys :d Saw this thread and thought... Why not haha ;D [SOUNDCLOUD]http://soundcloud.com/epictunageness/pod-tone-recabinet-stuff/s-cA3jd[/SOUNDCLOUD] Its the Criminal Amp Sim (5105) on Pod Farm and 2 of my own settings for Re-cabinet and filtered out the fuzz. I slapped a small Comp and EQ on the Master Bus aswell. Did it in 5 mins with IPod Headphones, so im sorry if theres loads of problems with it For the bass, i used the Rock Classic Amp Sim on the Pod Farm and that was All. Chain for Guitar 1: Pod Farm 2 (Tube Screamer => Mississippi Criminal => Rich Chamber) => Re-Cabinet => URS 1980 Compressor/Limiter (for the Filter) Chain for Guitar 2: Pod Farm 2 (Tube Screamer => Mississippi Criminal => Rich Chamber) => Re-Cabinet => URS 1980 Compressor/Limiter (for the Filter) Chain for Bass: Pod Farm Bass Amps (Rock Classic) Master Bus: Izotope Ozone 4 Enjoy ;D Gotta ask.... What the fuck you using for drums! they're amazing haha!
Here's my version. Guitars: Guitar Rig 5 with my own Preset Lowpass Filter Some EQ PSP MixSaturator2 Bass: Amplitube 3 stock preset 2 tracks the Ola Englund way of doing it!
Cool take man.. and good explanation too.. is great to listen the same track runnong thru severals plug ins and guitars chains.. thank you!!! i've read that you and some other users like my drums... i`m using The Metal Foundry for all but the snare. I`m using a Metal Machine snare (face it.. no one mix snares like andy!!!) I've reduce all my post processing in order to get an "all in the box preset". It`s noy the same... but i think is really close... enjoy! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17552485/Lekteri Liquidworks + Tama Bell Brass Stereo Out.s20
Thanks man! The fact is that it could probably sound better with some EQing, but for the purpose of this thread I wanted to leave the actual sound of Legion intact...
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36797911/DIs.mp3 LE456 on one side, X30 on the other. God's Cab, SM57. Compression and EQ on the bass. Compression, EQ, stereo enhancing, and limiting on the master buss.
Here's my attempt! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9992828/Random Shit/ampsim.mp3 Chain went a little something like this: TS808 > POD Farm [Line 6 Big Bottom] > Mesa Trad impulse > PSP Vintage Warmer 2 > EQ Bass was just POD Farm
Fair enough, I'm incidently not a fan of scooped guitar tones but it does seem to work for this style. The chain I ran was Guitar Rig 4 in front (Compressor, Tubescreamer, Noise Gate) into Lepou LeGion into Lecab 2 with Recabinet impulses, two Mesa Boogie and two Marshall. Just to maybe try and convert you over to using more mids in your tones, here what it sounds like in context http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39302626/January 3rd Mixtest V2.mp3
I really like how it sounds!! great drums by the way. i've found myself choosing more mid range focused impulses recently---- yhe main diference i've found is that i'm still hai passing higher than you... i still have more Fizz in my guitars--- Thank you for your time and work to my post... im learning a lot from all of the guys here in the forum
MR LePou i`m honored that you have taken the time and have be interested to mix my ampsims test... Is not a surprise to listen a great sounding mix with a great guitar sound comming from you.... May i ask for the guitar chain??? (please dont say guitar rig!!! ) Thank you!
Hehe, thanks a lot. Actually I cheated a little bit on this one.. it's no amp sim. It's a Krank Rev jr. recorded directly. The IRs I used were Guitarhack's 'grind' + a gods cab sm7b impulse.
It's just some tests I have been doing recently. I have created some IR of my own cab. Regarding the amp sim I have been testing different tube models, nothing related to LePou plugins so I can't tell much.
