OK guys, your mission is to assemble an all-star band for a reworking of "Stars". The trick is, you must use the same number of people (ie 40) and the same format, but you can't use anyone from the original version. As I came up with the challenge, I figured I would go first.

    STARS

Matt Barlow: Who cries for the children?
    I do.
Warrell Dane: Sometime in the night
    When you're feeling the cold
Matt Barlow: Take a look at the sky above you
Bruce Dickinson: Those are faces in the light
    If the story were told
Matt Barlow: They are calling you, calling you

Matt Barlow: We are magic in the night
Phil Anselmo: We are shadow, we are light
Warrell Dane: We are forever you and I

CHORUS: We're stars (Vocal lead: Bruce Dickinson)

John Bush: We can be strong
    We are fire and stone
Kai Hansen: And we all want to touch a rainbow
Hansi Kusch: But singers and songs can never change it alone
So we are calling you, calling you
Devin Townsend: We're the beating of a heart
    The beginning, we're the start
Kai Hansen: Together we will shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine YEAH!

CHORUS: We're stars (Vocal leads: Hansen/Townsend/Barlow/Kusch)

    SOLOS: 12 Bars each

    1st: Jeff Loomis/Michael Amott
    2nd: Paul Gilbert/Zakk Wylde
    3rd: Brian May/Lord Tim
    4th: Steve Vai/Paul Gilbert
    5th: Lord Tim/Dave Mustaine
    6th: Zakk Wylde/Jeff Loomis/Slash

Phil Anselmo: We are magic in the night
Bruce Dickinson: We are shadow, we are light
Hansi Kusch: We are forever you and I

CHORUS: We're stars (Vocal leads: Dane/Bush/Dickinson. Solo: May)

Melody lines: Glenn Tipton and KK Downing

    BAND:
    Guitar: Zakk Wylde
    Bass: Rex Brown
Drums: Vinnie Paul and Craig Nunemacher

    GANG VOCALS ON CHORUS:
Michael Amott, Phil Anselmo, Matt Barlow, Burton C Bell, Rex Brown, John Bush, Alice Cooper, Warrell Dane, Sharlee d'Angelo, Bruce Dickinson, Janick Gers, Paul Gilbert, Tracii Guns, Kai Hansen, Gene Hoglan, Hansi Kusch, Tommy Lee, London Legrande, Jeff Loomis, Lord Tim, Brian May, Nicko McBrain, Duff McKagan, Dave Mustaine, Jason Newsted, Craig Nunemacher, Vinnie Paul, Jon Schaffer, Dirk Schlachter, Jed Simon, Nikki Sixx, Paul Stanley, Matt Sorum, Byron Stroud, Devin Townsend, Steve Vai, Joey Vera, Zakk Wylde

    Have fun. :headbang:

Holy crap, that would be awesome!! Even without me being part of it! :)

I'd like to see Tony Martin in there somewhere, maybe in place of John Bush?

    It'd be killer!

Nah. Bush is awesome. Maybe in place of Phil, but there's a reason he's there.

What the hell, you mixed some fucking amazing guitarists in there that shouldn't be mixed in the same song (my opinion everyone so shut up lol)...

    Ah:

    Why do you say that?

There was Eddie Ojeda with Malmsteen in the original. Not everyone needs to be a shredder to make a solo sound good.

Because in my opinion, mixing Zakk with Loomis with Slash would be fucking weird.

I can understand grouping Vai and Gilbert as they are similar.

dude you cant mix em up like that can you. It has to be same format like if a singer soung one line in the orginal then a lead in a certain spot it has to be the same singer.

    W00t! :headbang:

I was just saying to Brian before that I would love to sing that line! From as long as I can remember, how Geoff sung that has stayed with me as a benchmark for my vocal techniques throughout the years. :)
