My sister was a lesbian, and even though I am entirely accepting (and occasionally jesting) of homosexuality, the whole nature versus nurture thing?

    Bogus.

She was straight, not in the closet, absolutely straight, until she met a hot Venezuelan chick and fell in love. Far as I'm concerned, sexuality isn't that important. Sometimes straight people fall in love with the same sex, and sometimes gay people fall in love with the opposite.

Took me a while to get this way, but you have a bisexual guy and I am a transgirl, as I think I've stated before. So there's 2 members of the LGBT community for ya. As for straight people turning gay, everything we know about sexuality tells us this is extremely unlikely. More likely it's called a closet, and many people spent years hiding their secret.

this happens quite frequently with females but rarely with males

almost all of the females that are willing to touch another female sexually have enjoyed touching a penis at some point

however, most gay males are completely gay, will never touch a vagina with a ten-foot pole

the is a bio-chemical reason behind this go look it up

Bisexual male here, I never chose to be bisexual. It's always been a part of who I am. And it's not a sex thing, I had a crush on a boy when I was in the 4th grade, before I had developed a sex drive.

I guess i'm the exception that proves the rule, then

    I'm a bi-sexual male
My bi-sexuality is an oral fixation, I love sucking dick and I also love eating pussy

    Btw
I hate the guys that call themselves bi-sexual because they're willing to ram their dick into anything but then they're a "complete top" when they're sticking their dicks into guys

I'm sorry, but when I make a guy (or girl) Cum, I'm expecting them to return the favor

In FInland we had few years ago a straight pride. It was full of national socialists(and different similar organized fellowship), conservative christians etc. They said they just wanted a nice event for straight people. They also said they are not homophobic...yeah but still. It was kind a amusing. It feels bad that certain religions doesn't accept gay/lesbian people. It feels like they never learn that it's not a choice, they were born in that way. And they have poor answeres if you ask them why god/gods cause that some people doesn't born straight.

Actually homosexuality is nature and nurture. "Born this way" was a slogan created by the gay movement, it's not supported by science.

I've also heard theory that everyone is actually born gay/lesbian, but then parensts, media, society brainwashes you. That peson was a trucker look a like lesbian anarcho-feminist who also wanted to destroy staright culture.

I've read many studies that claim, based on the evidence, that homosexuality is part nature (as in, no choice) and part nurture (as in, shaped by your environment) so of course the feminist was wrong. Unsurprisingly!

I have trouble understanding why sexual orientation is so meaningful to people. It's not something anyone should identify with. It's a pretty minute aspect of one's personality. Who cares about someone else's personal sexual tastes?

Identitarians do, on both sides by the way, not just conservatives.

Yeah, some people are really desperate for identity, so they turn to where the like to shove it...

That's a simplification. Animals practicing intra-sex relations is not necessarily the same as human homosexuality which involves a profound emotional content.

Also, as far as I'm aware the whole born this way narrative has been somewhat debunked

It could be argued that we communicate with language, practice psychology and are self-aware with studied and identifiable emotions. We're naturally more advanced than our animal friends. However, that doesn't negate biological, sexual attraction.

What is it you think. That gay is learned? Surely psychologists could pinpoint the time in which a child is homosexualized during it's developmental stages if it's a socialization matter. Most boys who later identify as gay show preferences for more girl-typical toys from a very early age. If it's a learned preference then sure that would suggest it happens from a very early again.

There's plenty of peer-review science here that provides plenty of evidence that suggests the likelihood is that homosexuality is biological.

    http://borngay.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000006

I'm also a little skeptical of people that hold a "gay is learned" because I usually find these people more religious ie. "God disagrees with homosexuality" fallacy and the science goes against their views.

Also, if it's learned that would suggest homosexuality is "curable" as other learned traits are treatable but most mainstream science rejects conversion therapy and would even suggest it's dangerous.

I think trying to accept that it's learned calls for rejection of a lot of evidence and evidence that doesn't have any politicized agenda behind it. Because if gay was learned (with the stigma attached to it and the stigmatization of homosexuality among communities, don't you think more gay people would want to reject it? And where is it learned?

Also does it mean as adults we can learn to be gay? I don't think so. I'm heterosexual and I'll never find myself being sexually attracted to the same sex. I'll never fall in love with a man. So if it's something learned in the developmental stage, I want to see the evidence for that. If homosexuality is learned then surely heterosexuality is learned too.

You're operating under the assumption that this is a dichotomy.

I'm saying the idea that homosexuality is biologically determined is somewhat debunked as many findings now show that it's just as much nurture as it is nature.
Most of this nurture happens in the womb, not outside of it.

Ok, apologies if I misunderstood you or misrepresented your views in any way.

I was reading it as you said like a dichotomy. However this womb theory essentially would still mean your born gay. I'm not too familiar with it but will try read up on it.
